When did you first find FreeRiderHD?Did you first join on CanvasRider, Black Hat Rider or any other of the other iterations?
No clue, like 5-6 years ago?
How did you first find FreeRiderHD (or, if you first found it through any of the other FRHD games, how did you find them)?School? Were you bored one Saturday Afternoon and the idea of a game like FRHD struck you in the head like a thunderbolt from the heavens and you had a revelation that FRHD exists?
I found it out through my brother.
Assuming you stayed on FRHD (or the other FRHD games), why did you stay? What was it that enticed you to keep playing? Was it the idea that you could create what you want? Did you find a friend on FRHD?
I stayed because I have no clue.
When did you realise you were hooked? Hopefully you don't play FRHD into the wee hours of the morning under your bed covers.
Pretty soon into 6th grade. And don't worry I don't. I strictly play at school and respond to people on forums at home.

When did you first find FreeRiderHD? At november 2020 (if i'm not mistaken). I created an account at december of the same year.

How did you first find FreeRiderHD (or, if you first found it through any of the other FRHD games, how did you find them)? I was scrolling in an html5 online games website, and was searching for a good game with an editor on it. Then, i found FRHD.

Assuming you stayed on FRHD (or the other FRHD games), why did you stay? The game was really fun to play, had good tracks, an active community, i made a decent ammount of friends, but even with haters, i still liked that game. Then, i started to get into ghosting at 2021 and onwards, and it was pretty much one of the games i played the most (along with minecraft, and many more), and i had a huge ammount of interest.

When did you realise you were hooked? Probably late 2022. I used to play it for a good ammount of time, but i started getting into spacebar ghosting, and i was getting addicted to beating my ghosts and beating tracks. Even not being a real time multiplayer game, i couldn't stop playing. I had to go to school, i played for more minutes and came late to school, and i kept thinking on it. I went to a trip, and my mind? FRHD. Playing UNO? FRHD. Speedcubing? FRHD. Playing football? FRHD. My brain was literally "hyperfocused" on frhd. I still could focus on other things, but once in a while i just kept thinking on frhd. I want to stop being so addicted, and play it in a better ammount of time.

When did you first find FreeRiderHD? i found it either late 2015 or super early 2k16 on the computer at my some house i was at., but it was some freerider ripoff or smth. It gave you points for doing flips and stuff. But it was the same bike character guy and the whole line concept hadn't changed.

How did you first find FreeRiderHD (or, if you first found it through any of the other FRHD games, how did you find them)? I first found it as I said on some other site that wasnt freeriderhd.com. I was like 11 or 12 and the computer had peppa pig open and I wasnt interested so i looked up bike games and found it. LOL

Assuming you stayed on FRHD (or the other FRHD games), why did you stay? I just published my first track in a year whereas I would publish one every week a couple years ago, but im still here cuz there are some amazing artists on here that inspire me to make my own art.

When did you realise you were hooked?
I used to be super hooked on this game especially in early high school in middle school. Now im in college and therefore not so active but mannn I would play every day back in 2018.

I joined on Free Rider HD and made my first account in October 2019.

I saw my friend playing it and I started playing it myself.

I stayed because I had lots of time in 6th grade and because I enjoyed the gameplay, wanted to get better, and I also had some friends.

I realized I was hooked after a few days of playing.

    1. Found FRHD specifically not long after launch (launched December 2013, I was here by early 2014). Had been playing canvas rider and free rider 3 for several months already (canvas rider for perhaps a year? so since 2012? memory isn't what it used to be). I never had a canvas rider or free rider 3 account as best I can remember (I couldn't figure out how to make one lol)
    2. I couldn't tell you man if i HAD to guess I found it via some flash game website and realized that there was it's own separate website(s) with thousands of tracks and leaderboards and I was blown away so used those
    3. I've always tended to stick with games I've played as a kid and I've always had a soft spot for this game. Honestly it's so addictive to make tracks and ghosts and be able to share that with thousands of others (at least when it was poppin around here). Once I got decent and could compete with others it was all I wanted to do. Having something I was good at and was easy to share? that's like teenager crack
    4. Getting my first 1st place times. never on any major tracks early on but dude I LOVED it. I would grind for hours for certain times. played at school in class, at home on the family computer, just loved it. This was not long after I made my account here so been hooked for awhile. lost some interest over the years as the site fell into disrepair with hacking n whatnot which keeps me from coming back full steam. even so I do love this game and all those still around playing it. battled so many cool ghosters over the better part of a decade. been a big part of my life and it's hard to deny that

Ig I will do one too, by far the longest and most detailed, hope you read it all if you have patience...
A friend showed me FRHD in like the early school year of 2018, seemed cool, they didn't find FRHD from Canvas Rider or anything, we were just into bikes and stuff and after a little research found this cool game. I played for a bit but then lost interest. About 1 year later, I picked FRHD up for a bit. I completed all the campaign tracks and had some fun, made some goofy ahh tracks and dipped (I just forgot about FRHD)

In the middle of 2020, I started diving back into games I used to play years ago, one being FRHD. I started actually playing properly and trying to get good. It took me 1 year to find the FRHD Forums Community, and I was hooked then. I started making decent tracks too, getting to like 50 subs at one point. I made some great friends like NandoLorris and EthMan along the way, many people started to point out how good I was at FRHD.

In the middle of 2021, most of my cohort knew me as the "free rider kid" as they saw me playing it all the time in class. Although the game started dying down at that point due to a lack of updates and Char leaving, I was still so hooked, the game was fun and simple. Since that moment on, I have never stopped playing FRHD since, playing this game EVERYDAY for 2 years straight just about!

In late 2021, I tried immersing myself in the community more, didn't go so well as most of you know, but it did get me recognised more. I made my best track yet at the time and after a while I reached 200 subs. In 2022, I really started focussing on ghosting, improving immensely and proving to many people that I was more than just the false things I said months earlier. I do believe I live to my name as one of the best nsb ghosters out there, but since the start of 2022, I really started learning more about the Community of FRHD and certain concepts so similar events didn't repeat themselves where my ego and naive nature took over (you could say I'm a bit egotisitcial still lol). But ye, I actually got good, got in the top 100 ghosters list, (I hope to make top 60 in this year's list).

Since I started ghosting more in 2022 and interacted with the FRHD Community, I realised I had a certain place here, if people didn't like it or accepted it. I wasn't hooked to FRHD anymore, it was routine. I played it everyday in class, and a bit at home, but I mainly played FRHD at school. With this new sense of belonging and active role in the community, I put pride in myself to teach others the way of FRHD, like my good friend verybad who became a great nsb ghoster in such a short time.

Time went by, I got to 250 subs without making many tracks in recent times (gonna upload my first feature-worthy track in a couple of months) and I also started to grind points, this was a time when FRHD was at an entire new low. Hardly any featured tracks were made in 2022, all my irl friends who I showed FRHD to and played every once in a while got bored of it. But I didn't. To this day, my friends still tell me "hey tp why do you still play that bike game?" I tell them "it is simple, fun, and I'm decent at it. Also, the community is very funny and filled with knowledge. Anyway, why do you guys still play Fortnite LOL!"

But ye, I still played FRHD, I grinded points for days, weeks. Then it got to a point where I started realising I was playing too much FRHD. After getting to 190/200 headgear and just about 60k points to reach the first page of the all-time points leaderboard, I started to play FRHD less and less. It was the Christmas holidays, sometimes I didn't even want to play FRHD, it was repetitive, nothing was happening. I still kept the routine, at least 15 minutes a day, checking pings and ghosting here and there.

But, my man Volund woke me up. His Poke contest was a great idea, many OG FRHD players returned like spruce NotVeryGood Ishu and many more to see this contest and check in on this nostalgic game. 2 and a half months into the year, we already have had more featured tracks than the last year in total, insane! This made me want to play FRHD more, in hope of the Community coming back to life in some form again. And I also have stuff to accomplish, something to leave my mark here, in ghosting, trackmaking and overall character.

Now we come to just about 5 years to the date when I first found FRHD. Honestly, it changed my life. I might admit I played this game too much, but it opened me up to many cool aspects of gaming and understanding techniques to play a game at a high level whilst teaching me to draw decent actually. I will probably never stop playing FRHD, I will play till the game shuts down, my main goals being to get a featured ghost, Elite Author (if I try as trackmaking is something I limit now) and get 100k points!

Now, that is a long FRHD Origin story. I hope you find this intriguing.

P.S don't play FRHD for 1 hour at school everyday, my grades dropped at one point and I had to cut down gaming lol.

When did you first find FreeRiderHD? Did you first join on CanvasRider, Black Hat Rider or any other of the other iterations?
First time I ever played was about 5-6 years ago on an account called GamerGoose, lol.
How did you first find FreeRiderHD (or, if you first found it through any of the other FRHD games, how did you find them)? School? Were you bored one Saturday Afternoon and the idea of a game like FRHD struck you in the head like a thunderbolt from the heavens and you had a revelation that FRHD exists?
My brother had a school iPad and at this time I was only about 9 years old, so I used it occasionally and FRHD was one of the only unblocked web games I could find. I thought it was pretty fun, although very difficult. I played on and off for a little bit, before dropping off a couple months later.
Assuming you stayed on FRHD (or the other FRHD games), why did you stay? What was it that enticed you to keep playing? Was it the idea that you could create what you want? Did you find a friend on FRHD?
As I said before, I left because it was too difficult, but later in sixth grade when I got my own school iPad, I remembered a game I used to like to play a few years ago, so I made a new account, scoutrules. I eventually played more and more, and got pretty decent on mobile, but then I got a school computer in 7th grade and started to learn spacebarring, when I really started gaining momentum and recognition. A little after I started spacebarring, I changed my name to Xenom. I think the reason I stayed was because I got a lot of my friends to start playing, like Unadvertised and xMega, and it was fun challenging each other on tracks and the "friendly competition" between us.
When did you realize you were hooked? Hopefully you don't play FRHD into the wee hours of the morning under your bed covers.
I think I first realized sometime near the beginning of sixth grade, because I was able to compete with my friends. I did leave for a little bit however because I moved away and got better at the game, but not super good, so I was able to beat my friends but not have very good ghosts, but then I really came back near the end of 8th grade and the start of freshman year, where I've really starting improving and hopefully still will.

    When did you find FR?
First found CR in like 2012 or 2013 I think. It was either late junior high or early high school? Played it casually for a couple years and then joined FRHD in like 2014 or 2015. Didn't get on the forums until early 2016
    How did you find FR?
I remember a friend was playing CR in front of me in some financial literacy class and I asked him what it was. We were all using chromebooks for class by this point so I just started playing when I was bored in class. Sometime in there I transitioned to FRHD when I realized it was a thing.
    Why did you stay?
I never made an account on CR. I just thought the game was fun so I remember going to the random track page and back then you could just refresh it for a new track so I would play a track, finish it, then hit F5, rinse and repeat for entire class periods. I loved playing. I forgot about it for a bit part way through high school and then got back into it like my sophomore year. By then FRHD was a thing and I started playing on there and decided to make an account finally. I just loved playing the game and I was obsessed with automatic tracks and hold-ups
    When did you get hooked?
I decided to start making tracks because I wanted to make my own hold-up tracks. I remember spending a ton of time working on Nature's Wheelie back in the day and thinking it was a top tier track (oh boy was I wrong), but it got like 30k plays and I was hooked on that, realizing that other people enjoyed what I made. After that I really got into trials and tougher tracks and started to find a niche in the community where I had some friends I'd interact with regularly. I was never a central member of this community by any means but this was one of those places on the internet where I felt like I had a place and that was pretty nice for young me.
