Sorry CityShep , so like question. As an asexual, when you see a girl or guy do you think about their personality or looks first? or do you just see it all as it is? As they are.

 

I know, the single-celled organism thing was just a joke.

 

I try to figure out what kind of person they may be. Somewhat like how people choose whether or not someone is worth being a friend. If they've got a similar attitude, traits I look for, and are just overall compatible with me, then the crushing kinda starts to happen. Looks do play a role, but definetely a smally one. Of course ugliness takes away from it, but it's not super high on my list of expectations.

I never cared for boobs or butts. My dad always had Playboys, and my peers began to comment on girls' bodies and watch porn. I didn't understand it, so I figured that I was just a 'late bloomer' and that I'd catch up soon enough. That was like late elementary school/ early middle school. And it just never... happened. I was worried when I determined that it likely wasn't going to happen; that I wouldnt just magically wake up one day and feel whatever sexual attraction feels like.
I was pretty much done with the large part of puberty when I found out what Asexuality was, and it was like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. Not only because I now knew that I wasnt alone, but also because I realized that it was okay to feel this way and that it didnt matter that I may never want to have sex (yes, seriously, it wouldnt bother me and all other asexuals if we died virgins), or feel that way about girls. We as humans have this expectation that all children will at least go through a horny stage where all they think about is sex, even if it's gay, lesbo or bi. Would I be an embarassment because I didnt feel that way? Would my mom disown me? (even many gays hate asexuals and think it's wrong. I know, crazy right?)

Anyways. Yeah. I've always felt that it'd be tough for me to fall in love simply because it wasnt the same love that others felt. I honestly find it *really* intriguing when men or women get so excited and giddy over eachother. Idk what it is about the body that does it, but supposedly it's good. XD

 

The best way to explain how it feels: If you've ever been on one of those rides where you fall suddenly and your stomach gets that rush that tickles inside, it's like that but in a good way.
I really like that you are open to talk and explain this do you see yourself living on your own or with another person (unmarried and not involved in that way) when you're older?
And dang kids looking at that stuff in late elementary school?
