I originally said 16 or 32 but I'm going with what you said

 

could you match people up randomly with the same skill level like F1N vs Asierro ?

 

If there were 24 people we could either do that the fastest of each group of three people goes to the next round, leaving 8 people, or the the slowest gets eliminated, leaving 16 people.

 

Let's make an elimination round. The best 16 people make it into the contest.

 

How about teams

 

I can't imagine how it could work.

 

just like wm contest we had teams of three, people among that team that got on the leader board got points for that team.The team with the most points wins.

 

make a teams contest where the teams are randomized

if 2 total noobs compete they get higher ranks than the best ones who lose.

and doing this would take the idea of RANDOM PAIRS away

 

that's why noobs would get eliminated on the next round when they are put against someone who is better than them

I think the current system is better. We should do something new, teams were already attempted and failed, if I recall correctly.

still the noobs get higher than the good players that loser in the first round. like they can get to semi finals if they get other noobs against them all the time

 

Ok, teams can be revived but do not make it at the cost of this contest, I don't want it to change that much
