I also have restrictive parents that think communication with others on the internet is dangerous. While I partially agree, it comes to a point where being careful could prevent a lot from happening.

look, your parents, while sometimes relate to your youth, will never fully comprehend being the age you are and what you're feeling. while most times it is good to keep things in, other times it is good to feed them a bit of info on how you are going, without giving too much away. I respect my parents, and sometimes I disagree with them, but you still have to respect them and submit to their authority.

 

agreed. but that older-ness gives them another viewpoint into your life. which can be helpful an dunhelpful at times. just like evrythinggggg else in the world.

also- if i was going to have kids. I'd want them to be open to me. ik it will never be the same as an agemate. but id want them to trust me. so i try to do that for my parents. even if i dont feel they will understand me. sometimes they do, sometimes they dont

 

Yeah bro. Its just part of life. You yourself will finally grow up and get that viewpoint. hopefully we'll learn from our childhood tho

 

My mum was deppresed and bullied as a child and teen. so ig she can relate with me more than othe rparents.

 

Those are both helpful insights. I find myself losing my temper mentally but not showing it. I feel like if had kids I would be pissed off by them and not give two shits about what they think (completely wrong of me, ik), and that's how I usually end up thinking about it...

 

but ig i'm not old enough or ready enough to comprehend the way an adult thinks or reacts.
