Currently not doing collabs. I can't be active all the time, not fair to the other guy who has to wait. I work on my own time, its a solo project.
I don't advertise my tracks. No that's a lie. If I make a track, I sometimes post it on my status but I rarely do it anyways. I don't see the point if you're going to get plays anyways. You could send WIPs of the track in development but not to the point where it becomes obnoxious (Learned from Odezi telling me that). So I don't really send stuff out unless I'm near finished. Though, Maple made their own little thread but THAT'S FRICKING MAPLE. Their tracks are poggers.
Exactly. I really don't understand why you wanna herd likes really. Pretty much: (Good ride + good detail + Originality)(Enjoyment) = Likes, subs. If you advertise it like heck, you're just degrading the value of the track. You'll get plays, subs and likes by the people who passed by and by those who enjoyed playing it (I.E My Drowned Caverns MW contest entry. I didn't advertise it but I got ~20 likes and 4 dislikes. Good enough for me).
Advertising tracks and posting WIP's are two different things. Showing progress on a project is a good thing, you'll get support if you're losing motivation and people can give their input. I generally post WIP's when I'm low on motivation. Advertising tracks is basically begging for likes/subs, which annoys plenty of people. Let people decide whether your track is worthy of a like or not. When someone tells me not to do something, I want to do it more. If someone tells me to like something, I like it less.
Mhm. I pulled back on the WIPs cause I was posting too much (I keep losing motivation really fast now). Thanks for OdysseusSupreme for that post he made so I now focus on what is good to post on the thread and what is not. I'm still working on that track I said I'll finish last week. Procrastination be like Ha ha True! I don't mind getting plays or likes (or even subs for that matter). As long as I made a ride everyone can enjoy, that makes me happy (That's why I am called RidingForever for a reason.. thinking of changing the name though). I know I have to start learning how to detail at some point so I can build onto my tracks. I usually focus on the rides more than details bc, if someone makes a track that's very detailed and the ride is complete bs, who would play it? Who would enjoy it?
