Okay

. Good luck on changing up the detail a bit

.
I do stand by what I said though but I do want to
clarify a few things about my post. First off, the post was
not an attack on weem but just all the people in general who do this type of thing. And in my original post I should not have said the whole elitist bs that I brought up and laying the blame all on them, and I apologise for such a childish remark. And I am also
not saying that everybody should go out there and trace, that is not what I am saying. That would make the art side of the platform of FRHD a lot less unique and less truly amazing tracks would come out. However, I believe that perhaps tracing (at least in this sort of context) is
okay and can be a good learning tool to further your own knowledge about detailing. Detailing in tracks on FRHD can be a long process and if you have no previous art skill, tracing can be a way to learn about how you can detail your own tracks as a sort of practice mechanic. As I see it, immitation is the sincirest form of flattery. Obviously, this means that whoever you copy is someone that you want to aspire to be like. After a while once you have learned enough about how to detail well, you can start to trace less and develop your own style more, the better your tracks will be and the more connected you will feel toward your creation. And in the example that weem shown, it doesn't seem like you fully 100% traced everything, which is good, keep experimenting with what you feel may look right to you.
Now discussing the "
ethics" I guess you can say, about tracing. I would have more of a problem with all of this if, the person you are copying from is physically/financially affected by the actions, you are doing it for the sole purpose of financil benefit, you are doing this to purposefully attack or steal the fame from the original artist, to a lesser extent, for a contest entry I guess. Since none of those imply in this scenereo, I don't think what Figured was doing was in any way, shape, or form wrong. Now I would love to see artistic evolvement in this community, growing out of habits of tracing and such and finding your own skills in drawing. The thing is that I just don't want
toxicity in the community becuase someone did something
similar to another person, and then said person being harassed and being driven out of the community for it. That is not okay IMO.
