Seems like a few of you still want to have it out with sharkfin. I respectfully suggest you all drop it. I'm tired of seeing the situation get better and then get worse all over again. Sharkfin suggested a list, that's it. Yes, he happened to be on that list. So what? How about ignore that fact and critique the rest of it instead of bringing a destructive argument back to this thread.

Give credit where credit is due. Sharkfin had a rough patch and a half, worked on things, apologized, and has since been trying to be less toxic and more helpful.

Recent arguments that I have seen involving Sharkfin have been sparked only by the one's who still hate him, not Sharkfin himself. I would think everyone in this community would welcome good behavior from a previously toxic player instead of trying to provoke them back to their toxic past behavior.

i'm pretty sure all of us (or at least most of us) are only making fun of him for being so ridiculously desperate to be on a top 10 lists that he himself has claimed "no value, biased" and a list that "he craps himself every time he sees it". if it makes you feel better i don't agree with any of the "toxic cyberbullying" (unless I do it), and if he thinks he's a better ghoster then so be it - he's wrong, but there's literally nothing wrong with being somewhat confident in your skill level that you're better than anyone. the problem is that he's disregarding the effort people have put into compiling the lists just because he isn't on the list. if you want to call out toxic behavior, it's hypocritical that you're not calling out his own desperation leading to his constant lashing out at other people for submitting "bad" ghosts, calling people brain dead (and many other derogatory insults), all of which he has not apologized for. call him out for being toxic as well as others. it's unfair to make him look like he's fixing his behavior because he has like 2 good messages in a sea of garbage, ego boosting aids.

don't try to act so wise and defend a person who has been intentionally negative/toxic because he didn't get what he wants from cheating in a kids bike game. i doubt that he's learnt his "lesson" after being called out several times - feel free to prove me wrong though.

Anyway, people should stop defending sharkfin unless whichever of his messages he's getting flamed for is actually reasonable. but if that's ever the case you won't see me there because I will literally not care.

 

But if he makes a new alt account we will forget everything and move forward and disregard all his degenerate behaviour!

You missed my point completely. I am not defending any of Sharkfin's past behavior nor anything bad that he has said recently. You also made me realize something, everyone who hates Sharkfin keeps making assumptions about his behavior. Try noticing the good behavior and start giving him the benefit of the doubt. I have, and I only see him getting better over time. Otherwise you are perpetuating the problem.

^ This specifically is the problem I have with most arguments involving Sharkfin. If you want the problem to go away, stop giving the problem attention. It keeps heading out the door, but you and others keep dragging it back in by the collar.

 

That was definitely a mistake on Sharkfin's part. Should've tried to own his mistakes instead of hide from the consequences by changing his name. (if that is actually why he changed his name) But that (with all the other things) is in the past. I doubt he could get away with that again anyway.

i gotta side with coager here tbh. sharkfin has been extremely rude to much of the playerbase of freerider (mainly the ghosters, yeah). i'm all for giving people a second chance and all that but in the case of sharkfin he is the centre of much controversy, as previously stated because, surprise, surprise, he is in fact toxic. if i were to give sharkfin a second chance, it would take a whole lot more then sharkfin actually acting nice on a few occasions. sharkfin would have to show he is genuinely sorry, and apologise for doing the things he's done (if he has done this i wasn't aware of it). you can't expect to make a big kerfuffle in the game and not have people poke fingers at you. things like earning peoples respect takes time. its not an overnight thing.

More than understood. I have said the same thing about Sharkfin bettering his behavior, so honestly I should be willing to apply the same logic for the other party involved.

Yes, he has apologized to some people over time. The last one I remember seeing was to Madara in the comments of some track I played. It wasn't just a disingenuous "sorry, please forgive me" from what I remember. I forget where the others I saw are. Don't know how many either.

 

There is no such thing as a one-man conversation. Likewise there is no such thing as a one-sided conflict. Without a response, there is no conflict. I am not trying to throw blame in either direction only showing that both parties have the choice to either perpetuate the problem or cut it off whenever they want.
