New Feature Subscribe to track authors now live!

    Hey all,

    First off, apologize for the delay, had originally hoped to get subscriptions out Friday of last week but after the holidays we have been busy catching up on stuff!

    Here is what we have so far with subscriptions:
    • ability to subscribe to track authors from the track page and their profile
    • in-game notification when a new track from an author you are subscribed to publishes a track
    • right now we have a "low-ish" limit of max 100 authors you can subscribe to, if you hit that limit please let us know. We set it low for today's release to reduce the chance of something blowing up over the weekend. I think a # that we will settle on is in the range of 250 to 500 but that will be based on feedback.
    What is up next:
    • email notification for when a subscription posts
    • adjust max authors you can subscribe to
    And finally, if you guys really like this feature use it! If players build a subscription list of authors they care about this could lead to some pretty interesting features like a Subscription type track listing...

    I love it so far! I also think the last idea has the potential for being very great! Also I would say we should be able to suscribe to 350-400 people in the future.

    I suggest you do a subscribers leaderboard which shows who has the most number of people subscribed to them

    Hmm, we have thought about that but don't want to turn it into a competition.

    I think we will get the most out of this feature if people subscribe to authors they really care about, has the potential to turn into something really great if we start displaying track lists based off of your subscribers (recent tracks, trending, etc) from your subscription list...

    If we turn it into a leaderboard it will likely get abused in one way or another, that is the main concern.

    Can you add a feature where you can see who you have subscribed to and who has subscribed to you. Also a author/player search option

    The page at www.freeriderhd.com says:

    I really want to know who subbed to me... o_O
    Do you think you could add that feature? So you click on the number next to "subscribe" and it tells you who has subbed to you. :thumbsup:
    Also, do you think that we could see who we have subbed to because after a while...you will lose track of who you have subbed to. (I mean after you sub to 100+)
    Char Eric What do you think? I hope some others agree.... :/

    I agree coz then i would no who out of my friends i do or dont need to challenge to play my newest tracks, if u get wot im saying :)
