hey everyone! so as you know, I'm on a mission to archive as many notable tracks as possible. but there's only so much a guy can do! so I'm asking for your help. I've got a subforum here set up as a pseudo-wiki: https://community.freeriderhd.com/forums/track-catalog.87/ the idea is to create a topic for every track that is significant, as in any track you personally think needs to be saved from a possible shutdown of FRHD. if you want to help, here's how: identify a track you want to see archived check and see if it has already been posted in the forum post a topic in the track catalog forum with the title "id: trackname - trackmaker" (for example: "1014: Star Wars - Stig") in the body of the thread, add only this bbcode, replacing the "id" part with the actual frhd track id: Code: [frhd=id][/frhd] in the second post or any following post, add any info you think is relevant to the track! this isn't a requirement for the original poster, anyone can add this info to any track. this means collaborators, whether it was a contest entry and what placement did it get, if it was a remix or has parts of another track in it, if it was featured, if it was originally a CR or BHR track. if there was anything significant about the track that would help give it context, post about it! please add sources, such as a link to the post or a screenshot, however you can confirm the info. example: Code: collaborators: it-must-be-you, stooffer original site: fr2db canvasrider id: 260223 original release date: mar 20 if you agree with someone's information, give it a like, and if you disagree (or think it needs a small change), quote it and share the correct info. thanks for your help guys! any suggestions just make them here, keep all the meta talk out of the catalog. and message count doesn't go up in the forum, and won't show up in the recent posts, so don't worry about possibly cluttering the forums (or your message:like ratio)
archiving the campaigns would be pretty cool especially if it was organized how some of the objects are like brush/, mammoth/, and ataraxy/
I have most track codes saved, and the data is easy enough to collect, the point here is to make it easier to get knowledge that is not in the metadata, like if there were collab partners or if a track was a remix or contest entry. and as a second point, we don't need every track saved from the db. there's close to a million tracks, and it's a pain sorting through the spam to find good tracks. adding to this track catalog creates a hand-selected list of worthwhile tracks to play
