Hey, guys. What's up? We are excited to bring the Winter Contest back to the game. We have always considered doing an "Official Contest" but we never felt it was right to do it, especially without any support from Kano. Recently we managed to have some talks with Kano Apps Support Team, FRHD Support Team and
Eric himself, so we tried to share some of our requests and ideas and although we can't promise much right now, they showed interest on supporting us doing contests like this, handling PRO/Coin prizes, so we decided to start with a Winter Contest. As mentioned, the prizes are subject to change (we are always open to sponsors and we need a few more confirmations to be sure on the exact amounts), but we do think we can do something cool this time.
We are planning to have coin prizes for the top 3 and bonus prizes for each player that gets a featured track from this. We want to give PRO to the top 2 as well and other prizes could happen depending on how things will go. Also, if the winner isn't a VIP, they will get VIP status as well, so this is kind of a huge deal as well. If the winner is already a VIP we could maybe add a small additional prize since they wouldn't get this one. But it's not set yet.
As mentioned as well, you need something original from yourself for this, so no collabs, no generated tracks, no to the use of parts from existing tracks. You can use tools like the "
Dream Machine", but you can't copy things you or someone else has used in a published track before. If you make new things and use that to replicate your objects, that's fine. Any other questions about this let us know.
You can use the "Snowed In The Suburbs" theme however you want and although we are still figuring out some details about the judging process, I feel like it's right to mention that the more creative you get with your track, the better. Creativity, length, detail quality, ride and overall composition are all factors to be considered when deciding the winners.
The deadline will be set on January 1st 12:00 AM PT (PST), so in the midnight between December 31st and January 1st, right at the transition between 2023 and 2024, so you guys have a month to finish the tracks. We'll consider everyone that posts their track on this thread on time as a participant, but of course that answering the poll and commenting that you are in also helps us visualize how many players we are expecting. If you mentioned that you are in beforehand, we should be able to accept some late entries if it isn't too long after the deadline, but we'll probably apply some point deductions, so let's try to keep things on the schedule. We would like to hope to gets full results out after at most a week, but we'll see how things will go with the judging process. Besides that, let's have a fun contest and good luck to everyone!
