It did long time ago. Now there are just ppl who have convinced themselves they are actually good at riding tracks by spacebarring, and some ppl making the "tracks" for people to make "good" ghosts on.

spacebarrers are legit ghosters; there's nothing wrong with spacebarring. spacebarring is an advanced skill that takes time and skill to master. I mean, a noob (noob/f1n is ironically a spacebarrer) couldn't come in and become one of the best ghosters in the game just because they spacebar, could they?

 

why would you/they do it if it wasnt immensely advantagous?

 

if you're good enough you should be able to hold your own vs spacebarrers
