Your tracks aren't featured because of a simple reason: the feature mods don't agree that yours are feature worthy. We understand that YOU think you're as good as Ness

Who the **** cares how difficult it was to make? Does it automatically change everything? I respect that you went through difficulties throughout making it but if the track is just going to be flat out boring with terrible detail then it doesn't deserve to be featured.
You agree with 90% of the decisions we make but it's sad that "someone so immature has the power to moderate the featured tracks"? If you agreed with 90% of our decisions then why does anything else matter? Just because someone has a different opinion on your tracks then you do doesn't make them immature.

I've played the track multiple times and still don't see anything special about it, a 13 way intersection would be pretty cool if you had to do something other than press the up arrow 99% of the time. Having more feature mods is Char 's Eric 's and Velksy 's decisions, so go to them about it.

 

Gonna be honest. Wild one express was mediocre. Had the exact same track been made by anyone else, it wouldnt even have been acknowledged as a potential feature.

you have to put effort into a track to make it good, but it doesn't matter how hard it was to create? you're basically saying that if a "legend" whips up a quick track, it's instantly better than a rising author who isn't as experienced and therefore needed more time and effort to make something of comparable quality *ahem*dreamt place and ness tracks*ahem*

once again, a good track is one where it's up to the rider to scramble over randomly placed rocks instead of painstakingly placed ramps that have smooth transitions. logic.

They dont value a persons time, only ask themselves "how short of time would it take me to make that". They dont value a persons effort towards detail, only tell themselves "not as good as mine". They dont value whether or not others could find a track fun. They dont acknowledge tracks of those they dont follow or like. They all seem to have a generalization of what makes a track featurable but can't see a thing past that.

 

After reading what everyone has to say, I have come to a formed an opinion / idea.

Featured tracks should have be named 'Detailed tracks', or something else aptly named.
A true featured track, should be drawn out of a pool randomly each week. and should be exposed in a larger format.
Any track moderators should be anonymous, reducing directly conflict and hostility between players.

I can't speak for the track moderators, but I can say from an outside perspective, it does seem that way at at times. I do agree that there is a generic look and feel of what a feature track looks like. But we already went over this and I do not want to take away from the feature track moderators. They are put in a tough position, and I respect that. I do know that they are tired of answering for their actions, but I guess that comes with the territory.

Either way, its not a big deal.

Yes I basically said this myself. No need to repeat. I understand that the mods are never going to admit they are wrong about anything, and I don't really care. If you want to take having featured tracks away from new artists who work really hard, go ahead. It's not going to benefit anyone, nor the web site. As long as you guys feel you made the right decision, you can all keep making, and liking each other's BS posts. I'm done arguing with nonsense.

I don't know about you but I don't think this is what a feature mod should act like. Seems like it might scare away upcoming trackmakers worthy of featured tracks. Ness needs to grow up or be unmodded, period. Obviously the track isn't garbage, I don't know why he's so upset to be honest. And if he's not upset, and this is how he just normally acts, then he really needs to be unmodded.

Yeah you're right. Just another front page trending track. They're all the same. This is why I'm done arguing. This just isn't true by any means. It's not really an opinion at this point.

Welp, I guess it's up to Char Eric Velksy then, but we do need more mods to have a say in what is featured and what isn't if we want it to be fair. But hey, this might end up scaring away some of the more artisit, more pissy trackmakers away from FRHD. So it might be best left alone and ignored. Just let them have their little clique.

Char so you're saying take away the featured list and turn it into one track shown on the homepage, changed weekly? Seems fair...

sounds like a personal choice. I wouldn't post anything to irrelevant at this point, it's just going to cause more pointless debating.

 

Renaming the feature section to detailed tracks sounds like a solid plan (even though a lot of them have bad detail, but I don't care) and featuring 1-3 of the very best tracks a week (anonymously) sounds like a good idea to me. The featured section hardly brings in enough recognition anyways.

 

Fair enough, I don't really feel like arguing over something that's dissolved.
