I'm not very good socially except around my close friends, but I'm going to try harder next year. I'm just a really shy person, its just like there's this fore preventing me from expressing myself more.

 

You should talk to people anyway! I stayed away from people a lot until the end of senior year, then I started going outside more. I realised that people actually do care what I have to say and do want to come up and talk to me. And if you make yourself look like a (since D word is censored I'll say dong) in the process of coming out of being an introvert, it happens. It still happens to me, but learn what you're good at and not good at doing, and get better. Talk to people because you have a lot to say and you deserve to be heard

It's always existed, and some animals show no interest in sex as well, but it's only now that people feel safe coming out about how they actually feel.

Tbh though people label themselves as asexual too often, usually geeks that can't get any sex so they pretend they never wanted it in the first place. Like I've never even heard of a hot chick who's labelled themselves as asexual, or some big beefcake dude.

 

I have a friend who i took to prom (girl) who is asexual. So yeah, it happens.
