I started this thread about a month and a half ago, and nobody has done anything. The problem has gotten much worse over the last month and a half as tons of bad tracks are getting tons of likes, while good ones are only getting a few.

Yes, it is. Take my word on it, and the word of most of the experienced players, including a ton of official authors.

Then don't even try to expose any tracks in particular on the front page. All the good tracks on Canvas Rider were exposed, and it didn't need trending to expose them, so why does Free Rider HD?

I agree with you that there are more important things, but it would take just a few minutes (only a bit longer than it takes to make these awful trending tracks) to make "newest" show up first, or to get rid of trending. It is just illogical to not do a five minute fix of something important because you are working on a five month project only slightly more important.

Getting rid of trending won't make less players. In fact, if trending stays and continues to be as bad, FRHD will have one less player...

It'll take only a few minutes, and they should have done this first.

A lot of people are saying that the good tracks do make it to trending, and that is true, but good tracks would be popular even without trending. Trending does give attention to good tracks, but they would also get attention without it, so the only thing it's really doing is giving attention to bad tracks

 

So I posted a track and told people to like, and I got 29 likes. I tried to get the track on trending, but wasn't that lucky.

and people liked just because I told them to.

My suggestion it to have a liking/disliking guideline thingy right by the thumbs up and thumbs down right above the thumbs up and thumbs down buttons.
But also, tracks just as crappy as mine are getting hundreds of likes because of trending.
Trending needs to go. If only there was a good site without a trending page that actually had an admin who didn't abandon it...
