I gotta be honest, I'm a little skeptical toward the art in this track. I mean look at the image below, the head lines up perfectly apart from the nostril. Even the pupils are perfectly aligned. The hands are almost perfect as well. There are of course obvious differences here but not enough to kill my suspicion. It looks like, in my opinion, that subtle changes were made to the art so nobody would notice. I know I'm gonna get burned for this post but I've found multiple images that directly resembled art in stig's tracks in the past. I subtly called him out once on bhr and I got massively flamed. I didn't even overlay it either.
I called him out too. Even after "stopping tracing", I've been suspicious in multiple tracks, but never been bother enough to check it. Damn Stiggyboy, you finally had me back on your side too. Shameful display.
I can after work. The Mario pic is easy to find, Google "Mario pose" and It's like the first one. You can measure it out yourself
and hey guys - I found the bowser in the track oopsie doodle - and this one - this is fun like a easter egg hunt ps who really gives a shít honestly this is a bike game
People who give a **** are actual artists who spend a lot of time with their creative vision and build it from a blank white canvas with at the very most reference images.
The point is that it's cheating & contradicts what he's saying about "improvement" because tracing isn't a skill. I'm not saying stig hasn't improved or doesn't have skill, I just don't agree with this. I did it myself back in fr2 days.
Okay i have some cleaning up to do here. I see that you have discovered that i partially trace some of the work, and i am not shocked to see who are making a big deal out of it. There might be some moral issues to it, but when it comes down to it i partially trace some fingers, and often the facial structure for higher precission. The bigger question is; would i be able to do it without? Ofcourse is the answer. Someone seem to forget about my shading, my overall layout and detail, in not only this track, but black magic for instance. It doesnt make me a shitty drawer at all. I trace in some some, yet far from every character, look at the flowers, i consider those my finest characters in the track, or the bowser shading. As an experienced street artist, i bet ya big sums of cash that i am a bigger artist than you believe yourself to be tremulant. I saw your silent hill drawing and it looks like something i would draw when i was 12 yrs old. Lets face it, all of you who are blowing this out of proportion, are simply grumpy old members who have been around for a long while, never really succeeded with their detail, and never hesitate to criticise whatever looks good (you are all people i constantly see critiquing **** that is much better than anything you could do). And so, you probably use much more reference pics than i if we were to compare nature related tracks. So where is the limit from doing that to partially tracing 10% of a character, so that i may save some time, and making it 5% more eyepleasing to those who play it? Im sorry guys but i fail to see the issue, in the end its a bike game, and its not like i traced mona lisa 100% on a canvas and sold it for millions. Even if ya wanna make it appear as big a crime.
You are however free to think whatever you think about this, but i know aswell as you, that you're motives are driven by past grudges towards me, and not the fact that i traced 10% of a handful characters, that you know doesnt make me any worse of an "artist"
tracing is a skill....so theres that. Tracing and making art out of it idk seems cheap but he made a track around the traced stuff (if he even traced it). so whatevs
You're making a fair number of assumptions that I feel the need to address. 1: Don't act like shading should be praised and everything else neglected. Forming your outlines is undoubtedly the hardest part of art. Substance needs something to fill. 2: If you want to trace, go ahead, but do everyone a favour and let them know so they don't keep praising you for the art that you didn't even really make. If nobody called it out, you would have happily taken the compliments. 3: You're drawing characters from children's games. Don't pull the "maturity" card. 4: You're re-using the same style since the original tracks you made like over 5 years ago. Don't tell us where we don't succeed. 5: You just said you could do it without tracing. Now you're saying you want to do it so it looks more appealing to the player. That makes no sense. But I'd rather see someone give it their all than cheat. That way they have potential.
