Drawing Thread

Well, I did give it to WheelieMaker so that GG can collab on it, but he still hasn't told me what he has done with it...
Personally I feel that the foreground on it is horrible (the rocks), but I like the background.

On a scale of one to ten, how crappy does that stalagmite look? Have any tips? I've tried a bunch of different ways and they all look like crap...

 

1/10 don't hate me.
I'd say don't have the stalagmites be separated by lines making the ground. Removal of those lines, that'll get it to a 3/10. Instead of using tiny little lines be more bold and make it, in some ways, more circular( not really sure how else to say it). Go ahead and try brush to form the spikes, it'll give you not only a better idea but a more natural look, afterwards clean up bad brushed areas with line tool. I'll do you a example when I can.

a little under 5 minutes and I think it is fairly simple.
edit: ok so basically I used brush made some weird pointy shapes, cleaned outline with straight line tool, used brush(scenery) drew in lines to give stalagmite more shape and filled in certain areas with gray lines so detail molds around and gives some shape to the black outline.
