    Hey all,

    First off, will repeat what Official is and has evolved to from the original use case.

    Moving forward Official Author is for those players that have uploaded tracks that show potential and/or has been a positive contributor to the community as a whole. The Official Author status is a sign that we have a certain level of trust / they are deserving to not have to pay coins and to be allowed into the Official Author sub forum.

    The idea of the Official Author subforum is that it can be a place to get feedback on your track and a safe place to share WIPs and/or track codes, what it is not is a place to attack other players and call members out as not being deserving. If you feel a player is not deserving PM Char and myself and we will tell you why they are in.

    Now that that is out of the way and hopefully everyone can get on board with Official Status not being an elite group (also the number of players that are currently official is over exaggerated as we are still under 100) and can help build up + support up and coming track authors instead of beating them down.

    OK, so if we do move forward with an "elite" type of recognition what do you want to call it?

    Some options:
    - Top Author
    - Notable Author
    - Elite Author

    Any more?

    I like notable author. Vip (without author) would be great but that's mostly because canvas rider used that one

    Ya, would like to find something that is specific for authors.

    I think we can do better than Very Important Person .

    Yeah I agree, VIP doesn't make too much sense, but on canvas rider it wasn't only for authors but also for people who did important stuff for the community, so maybe something else would be better

    Hmmm didn't know you could vote for multiple, notable sounds the best :) Elite and Top seem too competitive.

    Notable sounds like your less important than an official author imo. Personally I like pro author.

    I like elite author, it sounds like something one must really strive for, and something that is really exclusive! Top and notable author just sounds like another "official author" title, if you know what i mean.

    im going to explain further:
    top author, is too vague, what does top really mean? and how would one get it? i think the meaning might be so abstract, that it wouldnt be hard giving this title to a lot of people. the word top, doesnt really have much respect to it either.
    notable? boring word, also too vague and abstract. easily overcrowded title. doesn't have much respect to it either.
    vip/pro? kind of bored of this title, as every other fr site has used it. appears to also be too abstract, and there were a lot of bad trackmakers having this title
    elite? sounds like the best of the best, something that only a handful people would have. a title you'd have to work really, really hard for. endless respect.

    Top would probably be my choice out of those, but it still doesn't ring that bell.

    "Prime Author" would be awesome. not overused like elite or VIP, not bland like top, and not an understatement like notable. but it has to be an honor, where it takes some real effort and talent to be granted the rank. or else the name won't matter anyway, it won't be appreciated

    Maybe just call it what it is? Like top 1%... then again it would have to be based on stats and could then be taken away.

    Idk I think elite sounds best.

    Other ideas:
    Righteous author
    groovy author
    radical author
    gnarly author
    gnarlical author
    far-out author
    chuck norris status

    I like the sound of Elite, it sounds much better than the rest. I was wondering if there were going to be any criteria u would have to meet to become an Elite author, or if it would be handed out by the devs. I personally think that to become Elite, u should have at least 3 Featured tracks, but thats just me :)
