on the topic of copy/paste, from a meta commentary of track critique, i think it's often a lazy form of critique people (can) use to unimaginatively pan something as bad because it's "filler". this isnt necessarily a rebuke of what's been said here, just that it's being discussed anyways and i wanna say my piece (ive also seen this a lot used to attack egona recently). please include this with CC
the irony of copy/paste being labelled lazy, unimaginative etc etc filler, is that filler detail is often a massive chunk of what constitutes a finished track. look at ambition, which was made before copy/paste tool was out; that track has repetitive stars, clouds, trees, rocks, grass, bushes... what is this if not filler? no one really gives a fudge i put a tree behind a windmill, it doesnt do much of anything but add 1% to the overall track. put another way, it's eye candy to fill up blank space to connect the massive set pieces together. the track couldve been finished and uploaded without it, but then id get CC saying my track was a bit empty (exact comments ive had before on other tracks where ive neglected these 1 'percenters'). so there's no winning unless you do it the hard way, which is just a silly waste of time. i think there's something to be said about copy/paste objects having or even needing more variability in size, colour, flip, angle etc to break up visual monotony, as what naturally happens when drawing filler by hand, as well as just having more objects to 'spam' from the get go. but this and other similar comments should be the basis of the critique, not merely that copy/paste = bad
that being said, i am going to vote no on this track, for two reasons related to what's been discussed a bit by ration and bladee - it is visually repetitive, which i could look past and indeed was willing to look past initially, until i played it and found it was also repetitive and rather bland to play. when i saw this was a massive heli track, i was excited to play because i think there's so much potential the community's overlooked in heli-only tracks. but this track doesnt push the envelope at all or explore ways to create a challenging, fun or interesting heli-only track. to me, this is just a star-fetch track with little or no obstacles or challenges to speak. youre just flying around, maybe going between rocks here and there with relative comfort, and that's about it for >5 mins. it's a shame, because there's so much tech here that you could only do with the heli which couldve been explored, but wasnt. this track is massive and it's very clean, stylistically it's very appealing and i love the massive mountains of stone. but i cant pretend that i didnt find it both repetitive to look at and play. with a better ride, id vote this a yes without a second thought
edit;
bladee you can vote in these fyi, EAs have feat powers same as VIPs!
edit2; in the interest of not appearing too harsh, i do wanna say this is a great track, just not a feat one imo. id rather his first non-feat be featured 100x over this. but im loving the goatosaur return and uploads, releasing some heat
