Round 5 Results and Commentary
We are officially halfway through this edition of GBC and Round 5 might have been the best round yet!
Round 5 was made by triip, a very talented author who just got their first featured track with the amazing and incredibly unique track in DOOHICKEY. triip excels in many aspects of the game. We were wondering what he would deliver for Round 5. The track turned out great, being the shortest and easiest one so far in the contest, a detailed smooth offroad track.

Round 4 Times and Current Rankings
Not much changed at the very top of the standings. For the 5th straight round,
Cerasium came 1st, proving his greatness as always. The top 7 consolidated their spots, and
Cork was able to ghost this round to creep up into 8th.
Eunos and
Egona slipped down into 9th and 10th place overall.
The usual top 5 in
Cerasium,
Xenom,
Anonyymi,
Uniior and
Stevie.T lead this close field at different stages in the round.
isekeb slipped down again this round, finishing 8th.
The_risen_skyrider and
Clash06 were impressive, breaking the top 10 for equal 9th with 22.23 second ghosts between them.
triip was solid once again and
Totoca12 managed to get a decent ghost with under 2 minutes to go in the round for 12th (seriously dude, you gotta stop doing this lol).
TPlacella settled into 13th with an ok ghost (I had no time to ghost the track),
pawflix was close behind in 14th in which
panda_rider followed, closing out those who got over 2 points.
Protvod,
Cryx and
HtH_RIDES performed well within their capabilities to finish just outside the top 15,
JustAGDFan and
Zonkalization lagged behind to make the top 20.
Ponjoja mustered a 50 second ghost and in a similar trend,
nhdtop brought up the rear, getting over a minute with a 1:10.40 ghost.
Egona, due to being deployed in the army, managed to ghost Round 5 on his phone and finished last amongst those who completed the track, a respectable 1:30.30 ghost for someone not used to ghosting on mobile.
Egona still leads
Eunos for the Rising Ghoster Medal by 6 points, Eunos has not ghosted the last 3 rounds. So despite
Egona's compromised ability to ghost, he can still pull ahead. Unless
EGRIFFITH and
triip have anything to say about that.

TPlacella Award for Round 5
The outstanding performance of Round 5 would certainly have to go to
EGRIFFITH. A rising non-spacebar ghoster, he gave some of the spacebarers a run for their money this round, finishing 7th with a great time of 22.07 seconds, the highest placement by a non-spacebar player in a round this contest!
TPlacella is the standard for top nsb ghosting, and this marks the 3rd time this contest that he has beaten TPlacella. I was outclassed in Round 1 and gave myself no time to ghost in Round 3. But even if I had more time in Round 5, EGRIFFITH would have definitely beaten me anyway, with his ghost in Round 5 being his best performance so far in the contest. Great effort, mate!
EGRIFFITH finds himself on 20 points and 11th place overall, challenging for the Rising Ghoster Medal if he continues this hot form in the following rounds.
