from what i remember gonzalo was featured ages ago back when the standard was literally just one of the feat mods liking it, where as the standards are different now
Tracks that are suggested for feature status are voted on by the VIPs. They are either awarded a feature or denied according to majority rule. Feedback is typically given to justify votes. Pros of this system: - Checks and balances are provided for considering the different preferences of each VIP. - Not having objective metrics for judging means that all tracks are open to consideration. - Anyone in the community is free to advocate for or against tracks. I've changed my mind on tracks on multiple occasions. - Tracks can be voted on multiple times if a decision is deemed unfair. - VIPs are biased in favor of players who have never gotten a track featured. Cons of this system: - Not having objective metrics for judging sparks controversy. There will inevitably be tracks that many don't consider worth to be featured and tracks that players argue should be. - Number of votes is determined by the activity of VIPs. Results may vary dramatically based on which VIPs are available to vote. In the case of the two tracks that you reference I believe that both tracks could reasonably be featured, but I also see multiple reasons for denying each track a feature. Interestingly, I've never seen a track that had come close to being featured be revised and resubmitted for reconsideration.
It took me a long time to accept and eventually agree with not getting a feature. When I uploaded it, I, through heavy personal bias (and partially due to the fact that I knew how much effort I put into the track), thought it was 100% going to get a feature. I was very wrong. I thought that the quality and density of detail would make up for the scale. After a week when I didn't get featured, I was pis$ed off and thought that the mods hated me or something lol. In my eyes, I thought that my track was a combination of the highly detailed yet quite small featured tracks such as any of malishya 's, and the large yet not very densely detailed featured tracks such as SilentFinger 's recent "silly-ville" I admit I was playing the victim. Only now, after a relatively long time and a pretty big break from trackmaking, I understand why, and while a part of me is still annoyed, on the main part I agree with the mods. At the end of the day though, it's a bIoody badge for pete's sake. I forgot to have fun and was too prioritised on getting a d4mn badge for what?? Freerider clout? It was pathetic of me. So if I pis$ed you off in my arrogance of 'not-getting-a-feature', I am genuinely sorry. Sorry abt the rant tho have a good day y'all
I was going to make a joke about the three fifths rule that the census bureau had for enslaved people back in the day but that seems like it would be distasteful so I wont
scale isn't there I think also egona overthrown's stuff is too simplistic and doesn't quite use a lot of the space he made (ride) (imo) yes it's beautiful but maybe not quite on that level? not an ea though so take what I say with salt
On the upside the ride is great and well executed, and the track entirely is portraying some of the best of the classic styles between both creators. Well represented I should say. I like it
