      He didn’t f***ing ask you.

Make a really big announcement but don’t say too much about why you’re quitting you want to make it mysterious but also slightly concerning so say something like “I can’t stand it anymore. I’m sick of everything. I quit forever.” And make sure you get a lot of attention and people begging you to stay. If you don’t get immediate attention you should delete your announcement and try again in a week maybe changing the wording. Once you get enough attention then you can leave but make an alt account so you can see what people are saying about you. They should be saying things like “oh man that. Guy was a legend I’m so sad that he left” and then after like month come back and everyone will be really happy and if anyone asks just say you needed a break and never planned to quit forever or might just be more inactive and this way everyone will respect you more because they will think you’ve got a lot going on in real life and that you’re a cool and mysterious person and they’ll learn to value you more and appreciate your presence more because you taught them that you may up and leave at any moment which will scare them so any time you’re online from then on will be like a blessing and also they will probably start being nicer to you and stuff

alternatively but similarly you can leave without any message and unfairly have friends worry about you and your well-being, struggle to stay away from the game you've spent so long with but commit to working on yourself, and then a month later come back with a slightly healthier relationship to the game but continually think about how life would be better if you smashed your computer to bits
