CityShep Charity Stream-athon: Recruiting and Information

as per my previous post:

this thread is for hashing out the details. shep's family is now using gofundme donations (https://www.gofundme.com/f/thomas-cypress-elwood-mayberry) to fund a scholarship for young artists. i cant think of anything better for us as a community to support - whether ghosters or authors, all of us are here because we love creativity. whether it's crafting the most difficult trial possible or expressing ourselves through art, this is a great initiative for us to get behind

my idea so far:
- some ppl floated the idea of using twitch; im thinking of just using the frhd discord for now, as it's easier to change the server to increase quality and less-stressful on ppl's internet/computers. could be re-streamed onto twitch by someone, however
- one week straight of streaming could be cut down if ppl are too busy
- 10-15 authors and ghosters each (for a total of 20-30 ppl streaming) would be most ideal
- would love to create a channel on the discord purely for stream comments (to reflect a twitch chat)
- ppl who stream would ideally be comfortable with talking, as id really like for ppl to join in voice chat and hang whilst ppl stream ! but is not a necessity
- was thinking of remixing https://www.freeriderhd.com/t/205226-retreat - would be great if we could get this featured after so long (uploaded onto a FRHD stream account perhaps, or CS memoriam account..?)
- would love input from ghosters on what track(s) should be grinded for feats/1st places on!
- not sure on start/end date yet; open to suggestions in this regard

tagging ppl who have already shown interest in helping out - please comment below if you want in, ideas you have, what i should change/bear in mind etc etc. want to get as many ppl involved as possible, whether as viewer, streamer, etc !

I’d be down to support as an author streamer

 

I initially said I was going to stream me ghosting almost all of shep's tracks on Discord but since this project is most likely happening in the discord server then I'm totally down. Hopefully, my schedule is clear by the time this whole thing kicks underway (might also do tplacella voice reveal )

 

I would like to participate as a ghoster. Hopefully I can actually have some success on the stream and it won’t be too brutal of a watch lol. Any of his serious tracks are worth grinding. I already have a couple of first places on his tracks (used to have more and feats ) but I’d be down to try to improve at least one of ones I’m first on (probably both) and ofc play others. I have my eyes set on a feature on another track which I won’t give away so I don’t give anyone an edge. I don’t have a lot of confidence for a lot of his tracks since the ghosting quality there is already so high but I’ll see what I can do to try to contribute.

 

I might be able to participate as a ghoster depending on how the schedule works, although I'm insanely rusty rn. Not too sure about what tracks could be grinded atm, haven't really looked into it.

Yeah, I feel like my skill level is a third of what it was from april and my spacebarring is slower too.
Might be burnt out from doing too many Zs on that one track that I made.

Valid lol. Traditionally, streamers make revenue via donations, and so it’s become common for ppl to stream and give their donations to charity instead. Im hoping to use this same concept to raise money for CS’ gofundme (but money will go directly to the GFM, wont be touched by myself or anyone else). Plan is to post about it on the db to players who probably havent heard of the news, and on the discord too. With any luck, we can get a few donations from ppl who wouldnt have donated otherwise… or raise more donations from ppl in this community through incentives (ie showing a WIP if someone donates $5 etc)

 

I'm also down to collaborate as an author streamer, but as i said before to Volund i'm on the bottom row, i don't wanna take the spot from other authors that are way better than me, so if there's space to fill in, count me in!

I like this idea but I'm not sure how much success you'll have with donations. Aren't most frhd players like, 10 years old??

 

This is just to honor CityShep, money isn't the deal because there's people that will donate nevertheless of the stream, for sure it will help the family, but i don't think that's the deal, if it was we would launch it to twitch directly
also, maybe some people who haven't heard the news, when they see us streaming they'll want to donate, you just have to rely on the kidness of people

 

now that im free of assignments for a little bit, here's an update:

thinking of shortening the streams to 5 days, and having it run from 31 may to 4 june, or 7 june until 11 june (depending on ppl's availability). still would love more ppl involved, reach out if this time period works for you!
