CityShep - in memoriam

this is still in early development, but wanted to see if ppl would be interested in joining myself and some others to raise money for CS' gofundme (posted by Eli). was thinking a week-long streaming marathon made up of 10-20 people (maybe more if necessary), with both ghosters and authors taking turn to stream frhd. for the authors, was thinking of remixing a CS track as a collective, to be finished by the end of the week. and for the ghosters, was thinking of them grinding to get a feat ghost/get the top times on his tracks. thoughts and opinions? currently weighing up streaming on twitch (i think Ness has found you can share accts via "authorised broadcasters"), or streaming on the frhd discord

either way i will put up cash for his gofundme, but i think this could be a great opportunity to commemorate a player who was super active on this site - give back as a community.

 

I would love to try to help with remixing one of cs' tracks. I, however, have absolutely no idea when I'm free this week. might have to happen without me which isn't much of a loss

 

I’m interested in the ghosting, depending on when it takes place.

 

I can probably help but I am very busy with work. would have to hear a schedule.

Though I never knew him personally, his tracks were impressive. From what I've heard, he was a good friend, family member and teammate. I suppose we'll all be biking up there one day. Until then, we will miss you

 

Not really good with goodbyes or stuff related to it, but I've played a couple of his tracks and seen some of his art, and could tell just from the comments on some of his tracks that he was a really good person, and the images at the beginning of this thread. Sucks this had to happen. Rest in peace.

I loved that man. His energy was unmatched and joking around with him was some of the funniest stuff ever. Having a friend like him back in the day helped me feel like I wasn’t alone and he helped me get through some serious ****. He was a good soul who just wanted to spread love.

I first didn't really know CityShep when I started Freerider, but as I started to play more and more, I started to notice CItyShep's tracks were appearing a lot more. The more I saw the tracks, the more I enjoyed him as a trackmaker. Rest In Piece

 

best detailer of all time imo. he literally deatailed my 2 favorite tracks: rotate 3 and bolaside 2. i love all of his work and this legend will fs be missed

I genuinely cannot believe I am just now finding out about this. I can't even begin to estimate how many nights I had spent on Discord with them as a freshman in high school, shooting all kinds of ****. Most of y'all knew me when I was a freshman/middle schooler, it had to have been around 2016-18 when BHR was still up and what not. I was a pretty unfunny jackass at the time but beyond that, I was also a super lonely and confused child. Having a friend like Cypress (among others), even if it was just over the internet, helped me navigate my life growing up in many ways beyond what I can describe. They had a few years on me so they never hesitated to hear my issues and give me advice from their own experiences, when we weren't talking about music and forum drama that is. They were one of the few older people on this forum that didn't clown on me all the time (Which I am absolutely NOT blaming any of you for, I was retarded) and instead treated me with more compassion than I could ever ask for.

This is one of the many reasons to cherish those you've had in your life and to never take any kind of friendship for granted, even the ones that are long past. Rest in peace, you glorious bastard.

 

Still can't believe it

That's really all I have. It's been almost a year and I still don't know what to think about this whole thing. I met him on a couple occasions, really fun guy to be around and always had a positive-ish attitude. Even now, almost a year later, I occasionally see something and think to myself "Tom would love this, I gotta send him a picture" only to remember he's no longer with us. Sad.
It happened so suddenly too, like I really didn't see this coming. We still chatted somewhat on the regular and there was no reason to think anything would change. He really was one of my closest online buddies.

I'll probably edit some more gibberish in here as thoughts come to me later idk
