Can we just take our time to thank and appreciate Totoca12, the ghosting team and everyone else who helped put this list together, considering it's been 1.5 years since the last update and many months of hard work by these great people to put together this amazing list? I feel this list has gone far and beyond other editions of the list, including thorough commentary of each player featured plus a wide variety of statistics ranging from featured ghosts, ghosting awards and ghosting contests stats. What I find applaudable about this list however is the incorporation of legacy and impact on the game in the criteria for ranking people. I would not have put Anonyymi at #2 (I thought it was going to be Cerasium) but after t12 gave his commentary it made complete sense, similar to RedOrBlue's ranking. The same can even be said about many middle-ranked ghosters like we_are_number_one after hardly playing lately but still getting proper recognition and a position boost for what he has accomplished as a non-spacebar and mobile player. I can imagine this list is already quite valid in many ghoster's eyes (Cerasium seems to think so already). I'd like to mention a few people for their recent achievements and ranking on the list: Congrats pawflix Tubiek Puffin Coated_Badger reaperch and Azgr00 for making the list. I would especially like to mention xdeadgrim for finally making the list as they are a dope ghoster and Duper for being the highest-ranked newcomer, good stuff! Congrats Egway and Uniior for making solid progress in ranking in the top half of the list. Also, Setsu who cracked the top 50 after being ranked 95 in 2022 is crazy, I hope to see you return. Can't forget Xenom for being the highest climber from being 76th in the 2022 list to 5th this time around. He has been on a rampage since 2023 getting the most featured ghosts out of everyone in the game at 113, godly! AndrewVaughn3 fell the most places of those still on the list, dropping 8 places from 24th in 2022 to 32nd, we await your return to maybe rise the ranks once again. We lost NamanJayTV (formerly dookie77), matheus.borges.50523, msmarci1 pnguy Blizzz and Skriper Hopefully a couple of the more active people could rejoin a future edition of the list. ShamatoZ was unfortunately booted from the list for cheating many ghosts. My respect for him is still very high though as he is a generally nice guy and he is the only player to surpass 300,000 points! I wish him the best for his future endeavours. That sums things up pretty much. Maybe I can crack the top 60 next year
sick placement at number 5, and mad respect to all the work put into this list. can’t wait to see what comes out next year
For sure, but considering only FRHD I don't he should make the cut. Same for you. If we did something considering all versions of the game, official and unofficial, it would be a totally different story. It would be insane to compare, though.
W list btw, can you guys please explain a little further the criteria used to make the list? like if ghosting comps are more relevant than genral ghosthing, or things like that?
ghosting comps are probably the biggest, then official ghosting, like ghosting awards and features, then general ghosting, like popular track placements and good ghosts
I feel like ghosting contests are more important than general ghosting in most occasions because when those happen we have several great ghosters gathered around at the same time focused on the same thing, usually in tracks suitable for ghosting, facing each other under some pressure to see who is the best on those tracks. Usually we can spot the most talented and dedicated players there, since we can see who has been grinding the tracks non-stop and we can also see guys that have the skill to just attempt ghosting with a few hours remaining and still produce solid ghosts, among other things. In contests with the league format like all Ghosting Battle Contests the Free Rider World Cups 2 and 3 and the Official Ranked Ghosting, it becomes even clearer who is the most consistent among the players. We can see on which kind of tracks different players excel and other things like that. But I mean, you can see HyperCube's case and even Ninjasparkour's a little bit. They doesn't have great history in ghosting contests and not even that many features, but they had a solid impact in the actual game on several ghosts. I feel like you can get close to the top just with the features, just with big ghosting contest results, just with the impact in the game, general ghosting and longevity, but to be like at the very top, like top 10, top 5, you need to have a little bit of everything. The ghosting awards just reflect the results on big ghosting contests, the features obtained and the impact on the database during the month, so I guess they are not a metric super solid on itself, but I would say that the features and big ghosting contest results are the most important factors, followed closely by the overall impact in the game with your regular ghosts (volume, amount of first places on big tracks and stuff, creativity, innovation) and then longevity, activity and other things. I guess this makes sense because we don't want for the list to be just about who plays the game the most. It's mostly about a mix of who made the biggest mark on the ghosting scene with who's the most skilled ghoster on the game.
GG, i honestly expected getting 90th place but got 79th instead lol Nice and fair list, i like it! Congrats to everyone who made it and good luck to those who didn't make it, you can do it
I don't think the list is good but I'll respect the effort that went into making it. Good job to all the people involved.
Big thanks to Totoca12 for doing the lion’s share of the work here, providing some lovely commentary as well, nicely giving everyone their flowers and doing the list justice. and happy birthday!!
Lol I rarely participate in anything other than just ghosting popular tracks, I'm surprised I still get as much credit as I do
I had an all-time peak of 1 featured ghost, and it wasn't even close to one of my best ghosts, but I just don't try to get featured ghosts, I didn't even know someone had suggested it to be featured until someone mentioned be in a comment congratulating me. Maybe one of these years if I get lots of free time I'll just come out of retirement just to see what I could accomplish, but as a young adult now, my life will probably be pretty dang busy for many more years.
For now, I will just make sure I stay practiced enough to keep getting good ghosts when I have the time.
Great list boys. Nice to also see the justifications behind the placings too. Hopefully I can get myself back in the top 50 by next year.
