Alright round one is out! Huge thanks to SirHuman01 for the track. You will have 48 hours to ghost this track. Times will be updated in the spreadsheet periodically throughout the round. Good luck everyone!
(I will ping everyone on the track, if you are not pinged and want to participate in the contest, tell me in this thread)

If Xenom wins the contest then he pays himself $20, but only has to pay others $15, so he ends up making $5 o-o

GBC 4 is a great chance for many up-and-coming ghosters to possibly make the top 100 ghosters list as that hasn't been published for this year yet. Although I don't know how much of it has been finalized, I can see quite a few people competing who have a chance of either climbing the ranks more or even making the list, you don't need to have featured ghosts to make it, you just need to show others that you're good enough, especially in a contest like this. So I suggest really giving it your all as if you still get a good enough ghost and don't make the top 10, you still get 1 point for completing the track. So it wouldn't hurt to give your best effort on all 10 tracks, you may never know, but you could leaderboard on one somehow and get considered being added to the list from past ghosts or from this contest.

TPlacella so i think my ghost is good, but i dont think i can make top 100(obviusly) my time on track #1 was idk 24.9 i think? i will try to do well on upcoming tracks, but i was wondering if you had any tips. i used to spacebar and then i took a decently long break from the game, and i havent since. would you recomend i relearn spacebarring all over again, or id that unnecisary

If you want to be top 100 worthy you should spacebar. If you want to not have arthritis when you get older then you probably shouldn't.

For the first 1-2 years, I didn't spacebar but was aware of it. There was one particularly difficult section in a track (during NFRL, apart of the first wave of contests) and paused for it to get through it. I learnt how to spacebar from using a hybrid appoach, pausing the game when I needed to. From there, I got more profiencient and got to the point where I could spacebar an entire track.

You don't need to go "all in" with spacebarring. Even in todays standards, there are portions of tracks where I benefit more not spacebarring that section. Particularly when I need an accurate measure of my current momentum.

Not to discourage you but you're relatively new in the ghosting scene and there are better ghosters out there that I'm talking about that could make the top 100 if they gave it their all as people know how good they are already. I actually don't spacebar, so far I got a 23.03 on track 1, but if you want to get good, I suggest learning how to spacebar properly, there are guides on forums and you can learn a lot from people like Ultraviolet. I don't spacebar as I don't really like pausing my game constantly when I ghost and you're more likely to become one of the best non-spacebarers in the game than spacebarers as they rule the featured ghost thread.

track one is an alright track on its own but not great for a ghosting contest, some obstacles are pretty junky and it's not really consistent in terms of difficulty. i got really lucky and managed to grab myself a 25.77 like second try without trying that hard, and i could probably get like ~23.50 if i tried but i might not due to the aforementioned issues. o yea if I haven't said already I'm participating
