I mean, during the FRWC6 contest, at the beginning of November, RadiumRC did send me a video of him proving his ghosting skills, after I asked him for it, since we never asked for one. He was easily beating a featured ghost in a video where you could see his hands and his screen clearly at the same time. He showed some great controls there, so the video at the time was enough to convince Eryp and I, and I think it still is, at least for now. Of course the track he ghosted in the video wasn't the hardest ever, but it wasn't easy either. But none of his ghosts in the FRWC6 are that insane to the point we can't believe it's real. Radium participated in 8 rounds and he only got 1st place overall in 4. And even in those 4, Cerasium was just behind him. In the Quarterfinals round that happened in the track made by Innominate, Radium even died on his ghost, so his ghosts weren't perfect. There were some claims that he only did 1 ghost per round right at the beginning of the rounds, so maybe that could be suspicious, but that isn't true either. He did 2 ghosts at least in one round, the Semifinals against Reborn, when Reborn was getting close and then RadiumRC improved his ghost on the last day.

I'm not saying that there's no way RadiumRC is cheating on his ghosts, because we can never know for sure, but applying the same "protocols" we have for everyone, there's no evidence, as far as I know, of him cheating on his ghosts. If something comes up, of course we'll consider, but I don't think we are planning to do anything regarding his ghosting achievements, just because of this tracing thing. From what we could gather from his ghosts over the years, I guess there was never something that clearly indicates "that's clearly cheating", as some people are pointing out as well. Some ghosts are like borderline of what's possible, but maybe he is indeed that good. We can't really know for sure. And now it'll be harder to find out.

Never seen this ghost before, but it looks totally un-human. There are key signs to a human ghost vs a TAS. Human ghosts has slight forward and backward micro movements, adjusting and re-aligning yourself for the upcoming obstacles. This ghost has almost none for that, everything is bang on and he never adjusts. I've been seeing this in a lot of ghosting recently, look at old backtwice/Noob/Anonyi/Mr..A ghosts and you'll spot the difference. In my honest opinion, these near perfect ghosts aren't even fun to watch either. Its the slight miscalculations and repositioning that really tell a story, and feel genuine. Perfection is what we strive for but when you have it, it feels souless. If ghosting and trackmaking are considered art (which I think so) Its all about how it makes you feel when you observe it.

To be fair about the dying in the ghosts, Cerulean did make a script where you could respawn in TAS.

no it's only at the end. if you use the script to die in a tas, after you die, the ghost is completely uncontrollable. making a tas script where you die is (to my knowledge) impossible because the main point of a tas is to eliminate all deaths

counterpoint: https://www.freeriderhd.com/t/728766-heli-tech/r/tafr (this one was just a proof of concept to make my alpha nonane tas, but then i didn't end up needing deaths to do alpha nonane)

cerulean never made a script where you can die in a tas ghost, he used the ghost verif mod that isekeb made to put the death into his tas. isekeb deleted the script for the mod so it's unavailable now as far as i know

Tbh I’ve traced in the past. And I don’t really have a problem with doing it or generating. Anything that makes trackmaking easier, therefore making tracks bigger and better is a positive imo. As long as people are transparent about it.

It’s entirely possible to make something feature worthy while still having traced art (ie Stig’s entire catalog). A lot of the old CR feats have copious amounts of tracing as well.

the point about the cr tracks is valid, those with tracing should realistically be reevaluated now
for your first point, i disagree that making things easier is better, at least in this respect. part of the reason featured tracks are so impressive is because we all know how much effort and how long it takes to make them. when i see a traced thing in a track i dont think "wow this person is talented and made this from scratch," which i think is the general reaction to a featured track. tracing is a lame workaround with very little creative use at best, and is plagiarism at worst.
also if youre tracing to make a bigger track you really need to reevaluate your trackmaking ideals lol. youre making it bigger for no reason at that point, saying "i could add more of my own stuff to this track before publishing, but im gonna be lazy and trace someone else's stuff instead." again, even before factoring in that what youre doing might be plagiarism, tracing is just a lamer and less creative option than drawing your own stuff, and if youre tracing to make your track bigger you should reevaluate if you really need to make it bigger.

I understand your viewpoint. I’ve just gotten to a point where I can respect frhd both as an art medium and a fun game.

I still have tremendous respect for a track like jettyside, because even though he traced some elements (maybe even all of them) I can still enjoy the ideas presented as a fun and unique playing experience. If he needed to trace to display his vision, I wish he would’ve been more transparent, but I still love the track.

The main issue was he wasn't transparent about it. At all. He hid it, and ducked questions trying to take credit for other peoples work.

If he went about it differently then I'd still have some respect for the work put into it.
