A bit late to this but I thought I might as well drop a you're welcome. Funnily enough I do actually remember this and it's crazy to me that this happened probably over 2 years ago.

Admittedly at the time I didn't have a lot advice to give out to you or even have the ability to properly empathise what you were going through. Unfortunately I do now (minus dropping out) and I've realized a lot of things between then and now about myself since graduating. At the time it was easy for me to be in the call and worry that me being there was bothersome and might have made you uncomfortable with sharing and talking openly, but seeing that you even remember me being there and even that helped you out makes me feel pretty good.

It makes me remember back in the mid 2019 - late 2020 era on the main discord server when people would get together in vc and play any sort of artistic game and just talk. It makes me sad that the days where we get in voice call and play jackbox, skrib, gartic, among us, risk and free rider probably won't ever come back the same way it was with people like BB50, cynic, cctv^3 and others who've left / are less active.

also 2 years later and madara still never helped me out with my problem

Anyway shoutout to my boys and girls who took the time to change themselves and turned it around! fu.ck depression! woo!

I didn't know that such encouraging words could come from Coager!

I wish that i could've experienced what you're explaining, even though at the time i hadn't even known about freerider or just joined, and was even more annoying than I am now (hard to believe). I like your shoutout, woo!

mate why? somebody makes a neat lil message and you just do what those 10yr olds do and post an amongus photo. You should feel so proud of yourself. You are so incredibly funny. And don't lie about being 20. If ur gonna lie then at least try act 20.

yeah and free weights. Home gym all the way. Thats one good thing about bodyweight exercises; if you are heavy you pay the price. It's not just building muscle on top of fat, it's burning down fat whilst building up muscle.

There is something so gratifying to build yourself up when you're at the lowest points in life. Strong body, strong mind.

The reason I said what I said is because 5 months ago a virus attacked my nervous system. It ended up in my heart and circulatory systems and some other complicated stuff. I was sent to some of the best cardiologists in the US. I was told I was going to die if I got my heart rate up. It took 4 months to be able to clear my system of the life threatening heart issues and circulatory problems. Once I knew I wasn't going to die I hit the gym. I'd end up unconscious 3-4 times a workout. There's something about believing you're going to die and coming out of it... The appreciation of the little things, like simply going for a walk. You fear less things, you realize that life is short, you lose yourself in your own mind, and life becomes more simple. The gym was my calm in the chaos. The physical pain would quiet the mind. I found myself after I pushed way beyond my physical limits.

So go to the gym. Find your serenity within the chaos of the physical pain, fight those little voices, your mind is more powerful than you realize.

also scientifically you just get dopamine when you work out

im glad to hear that you are doing okay fluffy, reading this genuinely scared me. I can feel how much that working out meant to you, and i wish i had some of the perspective you do. You are a great role model as far as i've heard, I hope that you're still doing alright.

This is some of the best advice on here. I've been hitting it consistently for the past few months and have made some decent progress. I truly believe it was the best choice I have ever made.

It depresses me how dead this site is

I've found a resource that I haven't used, but i probably will, and I thought it might help someone on here.

      https://www.crisistextline.org/text-us/

or text HOME to 741741 . Apparently if you need to talk to someone or are going through a really rough patch you can get in touch with a councelor that can help you through it. I know i've certainly always wanted something like this and I hope that it helps someone out that didn't previously know about it.

Wow, this is some of the best advice I ever got I really appreciate this. I have been trying several methods in the past three years of my depression and to be honest, I usually felt better after working out. The problem is I've had asthma since I was 9 and it really gets in the way. If I go for a 4km jog in 40minz I cant do any other exercise till the next day. So I tried turning to people however most of the time they're are just like in my time people your didn't even think of depression. Yeah, I know but this is this time, not that one. Things are different. Different things cannot be the same. I just ended up being scared of everything. I feel like an empty potato sack making no progress in life. Just repeating the same thing every day. Now I can't work out properly I'm just ten times worse. Again I really appreciate this.

Don't do cardio then. Weight training is great when you need your breath, don't lift super heavy and it shouldn't be a problem.

I'll give my workout plan for anyone who wants it

I can’t pm from my phone due to time limits so could you start the convo?

I have a solid plan for me, but I’d like to compare them. I’m also training biking specific so that will vary a lot too.

      still good to know though.

Reading stuff like this about the game and the community as it was depresses me. Freerider is such a big part of my life, and really my only escape and I wish that the community was still the same as it was
