    Quick update on the times:

Right now Xenom has the lead, with a great 56.37 time. Setsu comes just a bit behind him, with a 56.87 time. As for Reborn, he got an improvement recently and his time stands at 58.73 seconds. Who'll take the win and the 3rd Place Medal? Let's wait and see.

Talking about the medals for the contest, I'll create them now. As for the poll, Xenom is winning it so far with 8 votes, while Setsu has 5 votes and Reborn has 4 votes. I'm interested to see how it goes.

There's 46 hours and 31 minutes until the end of the round.

Hey, guys. Update on the times. And what an update! Setsu has turned the tables over Xenom and has the lead right now for the 3rd Place medal. He's leading with a 56.30 time, while Xenom is only 0.07 behind him, with a 56.37 time. Reborn managed to improve his time and is standing at 57.90 seconds right now. The poll remains the same. WHO WILL PREVAIL?

As for the next round, we already let RadiumRC and Cerasium know that there will probably be a delay, so they'll play whenever the Eryp/Max007x track is posted. This round is ended at the current deadline, though. So it's ending in 8 hours and 9 minutes.

New update on the times. Reborn still has his 57.90 time, but Xenom has now beaten Setsu back. Xenom right now has 56.03 time, while Setsu has a 56.30 time. Can Setsu came back once again? Can Reborn make a last minute upset against them? I don't know. But we should be able to find it out soon. There's only 1 hour and 50 minutes until the end of the round. Let's go!

It's kinda late for me and I was busy today, so since we won't have a round tomorrow, I'll write my posts tomorrow, so I can do things in a proper way. Once again, congrats to Xenom for the 3rd Place medal. Well-deserved!

    3rd Place Match Results:

Reborn (57.90) vs Xenom (56.03) vs Setsu (56.30)

Congrats again, Xenom. You already received a very deserved medal. I won't be making the matchups post for the Championship Finals just yet because I'm waiting for the track to be finished, which should happen in the following days. I'll make a commentary post for the 3rd Place Match soon and will also update the poll, the main post and the spreadsheet. Hang on just a bit longer Cerasium & RadiumRC, the time for the final battle is coming. All of the medals are already made. I'll also start working on the prizes, since it seems that we'll have some sponsors for coin prizes. If there's any volunteers for other prizes, be sure to contact me about it.

    3RD PLACE MATCH COMMENTARY:

Hey guys. What's up? It's time for the second to last commentary post of this contest. The 3rd Place has ended and we have our first medalist in the contest! Xenom is taking the 3rd Place medal home and it was a very deserving one. While we wait for the final round to be released, let's talk about about last round.

    TRACK:

https://www.freeriderhd.com/t/925079-frwc6-3rd-place-match by lightninggod. First off, let's talk about a major W from last round, the track! Funny enough, at some point I was nearly entirely sure that we wouldn't use this track, but I'm glad that we did. It was a fun one, for sure. Here's what happened. After the initial 2 trackmakers dropping out and then the delays with the Group Stage Match 3 and the Semifinals tracks, I figured that I should work on backup tracks, just in case we need them. I was considering working on them, but I eventually asked or was asked by other people about this and then some backup tracks were made. Cork was working on one but wasn't able to finish it, but then I was reached out by 2 other players. First off it was lightninggod and then it was SketchyLemon. Both came up with full tracks pretty much ready to go and I enjoyed both of them and was excited to maybe include one of them for the contest, if we needed. For the following rounds after the Semifinals, Cerasium and RadiumRC came through with the tracks, so there was only the finale missing, but that was already pretty much lined up for the Eryp/Max007x collab. At the end of the day, we didn't really need another track, but since it would take maybe like a week more for Eryp to finish the final track, I decided to make the 3rd Place Match its own round for the first time, so we could use one of these tracks and also put the 3rd Place match in the spotlight for real, and I think it was a good decision. Since we didn't have the final track just yet I had to pick between lightninggod's and SketchyLemon's tracks. In the beginning I was leaning towards SketchyLemon's track because at the time they were sent to me, lightninggod was still in the contest and SketchyLemon's track was a bit more detailed. However, after the feedback from the Cerasium's track for the Losers Championship Semifinals track, I felt like SketchyLemon's track was a bit hard for us to have a fun 3-day battle in it. It's a great track and you should totally publish it, though. It's a good challenge, so I could even shoutout it in this thread when you publish it, since you had all of the effort to make it. But in the end, after asking some people around as well about the style of the tracks we should have for this round, I decided to go with lightninggod's track, that I believe became one of the favorites from the contest. Cool ride, not hard, but long enough to not be that easy to optimize, so I guess it was a good pick. So thanks to lightninggod again for the track and thanks again to SketchyLemon for the track as well, even though we didn't use it. Maybe we could do something fun. If SketchyLemon publishes the track, maybe I could give out a small coin prize to whoever is first on that track whenever I'm handling the prizes, I don't know. Maybe it could be fun.

Also, props for the players that weren't in the round or in the contest, but that completed the track with great ghosts, such as HyperCube, Cerasium, ShamatoZ/EarthShine and even myself. The track was quite fun indeed.

    RESULTS:

Now let's talk about the results in the round. WHAT A MATCH! It was a great war! First off, props to the 3 ghosters: Xenom, Setsu and Reborn. This was the first time with this format that all of the 3 players in the 3rd Place match completed the track for that round, lol. So props to you guys for putting your time into this. Let's talk about how the round went out.

The first day showed Setsu and Xenom already going for it from the start, while Reborn only improved later on. Around that time, the poll was already similar to what it ended, with the votes favoring Xenom. After the first day, the player's times around this point were 56.37 for Xenom, 56.87 for Setsu and 58.73 for Reborn that had just improved his time.

In the second day I didn't really had time to update the times, although I saw that all 3 players continued to keep going for it, trying to improve their ghosts.

Around 8 hours before the end of the round, in the third day, everything had changed! What a plot twist! After many attempts, Setsu was able to pull off a 56.30 time, that was 0.07 second faster than Xenom's time. Scary thing to happen in the last day. Xenom was confident that he was able to improve, but that moment seemed to be a little bit of a boost of confidence for Setsu, that seemed to be sick recently, from what I gathered. I was really excited to see what would happen, since their ghosts were pretty close to each other in most aspects. Reborn had also improved his ghost, having a 57.90 time at this point. Could he pull off a comeback? Like he did with Sidewalk?

With only 1 hour and 50 minutes left, I did another update on the times and guess what? ANOTHER CHANGE! Xenom was able to beat Setsu back. Xenom had a 56.03 time, while Setsu still had his 56.30 time and Reborn had his 57.90 time still. These were in fact the final times. I was curious if Setsu and Reborn would be able to pull a last minute upset, but the favorite in the poll and the most consistent player during the contest won. The young legend in the making Xenom took the W here. Apparently Setsu was sick and couldn't improve it and Reborn ended up improving his time a bit after the round was over (to a 57.80). R.I.P. Props to all of you guys. Bravo!

This was actually the closest match between the 3rd and 4th placed players ever in the FRWC, in the 4 editions we had knouckout stages. Back in 2015, in the first edition, I got a time of 21.87 in the final track, that was enough to beat Asierro's 22.23 time. In the 4th edition in 2020, Madara (still back as Sannin) got a time of 1.11.13, that was more than enough to beat ShamatoZ's time of 1.38.27, while BrendanMagill, that finished in 5th that year, didn't ghost. In the 5th edition last year, this year's finalist Cerasium (back as BoostButt) got a 1:42:57 time, that was enough to beat Chaos-Fallen's 1:55.20 time and Cerulean, that finished in 5th, since he didn't ghost the final track. So this year, having a time of 56.03 for the 3rd Place Xenom and a 56.30 time for the 4th Place Setsu, we had the shortest time difference between the 3rd and 4th place ever in this contest in the contestants final track. Really cool!

Another crazy fact that showed how close Setsu was to get this 3rd place medal was that Setsu was ahead of Xenom for about 29-30 seconds. That's crazy! Their ghosts were around 56 seconds long, so that means that Setsu actually was ahead for the most part during their ghosts. That slightly slow spot around 45-46 seconds for Setsu might have costed to him the win. GG, though. Really nice battle.

The poll ended up with 8 votes for Xenom, 5 votes for Setsu and 5 votes for Reborn. The community was right this time, haha. Also, Xenom broke the tradition of the Losers Champion winning the 3rd Place match. Yeah, Setsu was pretty close, but Xenom secured the win.

    MESSAGE FOR REBORN:

The Best Ghost Of 2021 has been reborn! Haha. But all puns aside, this is a really cool result for you, Reborn, that reflects your good year in the ghosting community. You were always an OG that was more chill, that everyone that was around for a bit knew about, but that hadn't reached some ghosting milestones. This year was finally the year where you got the Recognized Ghoster medal, your first Ghosting Awards (Ghoster Of The Month - one 1st place, one 2nd place and one 3rd place. Ghost Of The Month - won it twice, all of this happening this year) and now you finished in the top 5 of a big ghosting contest. Really nice, man. It was good seeing that you still has enough to fight for some great results in the right conditions. Really sick, man. You started really well with the 8th place in the Qualifiers, that made you end up in pot 1. After that you ended up in a tough group with Sidewalk, RubeGoldberger and Overthrown, but you came through with 3 straight wins, including one against Sidewalk where you need to make a comeback in the end, in a round where many players in the community didn't think you were the favorite in the match. You ended up with the 11th best Group Stage Combined Time. In the Round of 16, you beat adversitas without much trouble, which make you advance to the Quarterfinals. In that round you surprised many beating Uniior, that was on fire during the contest. In the Semifinals you ended up not surviving against the mighty RadiumRC. And now, in the 3rd Place match, you got behind Xenom and Setsu, despite having a great ghost. 5th place for you, and there's nothing bad about that, especially since I think this was your FRWC debut. Congrats, man! I hope you liked it and I hope to see you in future editions.

    MESSAGE FOR SETSU:

What a contest, man. I'll admit that I didn't think you would do as good as you did. I thought you would qualify and do a good performance for sure, but this contest had MANY great ghosters in it, so finishing in 4th place, just 0.27 second behind the 3rd in your final track is HUGE! Especially for a FRWC debut, lol. You showed consistency from start to finish, pulled off a fight against every player you faced and fought until the end for the best results possible. Good stuff, man! It started with a great 9th place in the Qualifiers, that put you in pot 2 for the Group Stage. You ended up in a group with Uniior, RandomTurtleBoi and pawflix and you managed to win the group with 3 straight wins. Wow! The biggest moment of that group stage for you was the massive win against Uniior by 0.8 second. He was the player from pot 1, so you secured one of the first upsets in the contest. You ended up with the 5th best group stage combined time, which is crazy! In the Round Of 16 you beat 1st place in the Qualifiers ShamatoZ, which was really cool. After that, you were unlucky to face Cerasium right in the Quarterfinals, so you were pushed to the Losers Championship, where you faced many great ghosters. First off, you faced Legendary Ghoster ShamatoZ once again, this time in the Losers Championship Quarterfinals, and got the W one more time. Really solid! You needed to go through the extra Losers Championship rounds, so you had a tough task against me and legendary ghoster Sidewalk in a hard track by Cerasium in the Losers Championship Semifinals, but you came through with the win (and this time also the 1st Place in the round). In the Losers Championship Finals you had a 2nd match against Pro Ghoster medal winner Uniior, that had his chance for revenge, but he blew it. Better than that, you prevented him from getting it. What a performance. You then became the Losers Champiob and entered in the 3rd Place match, where you did good, almost beat Xenom and finished ahead of Reborn. Incredible! Not even counting the Qualifiers, you literally beat 5 players that have more ghosting awards and recognition and a better placement in the top 100 ghosters list than you: Uniior (twice), ShamatoZ (twice), Totoca12, Sidewalk and Reborn. Somebody is climbing up the ranks, hahaha! WHAT A LEGEND! Congrats, man. I hope to see you in future editions. You deserve a Ghosting Contest medal. I hope you enjoyed your time in the contest as well.

    MESSAGE FOR XENOM:

The young man did it! In your FRWC debut, you are leaving with a medal. And oh, this is a very deserving one! You were the 4th in the Qualifiers, which put you in pot 1. You got in a group with braw, Cynosure and TPlacella and ended up winning all 3 matches. But you didn't just win, your Group Stage performance was REMARKABLE! You were 3rd in the first two Group Stage matches, just behind RadiumRC and Cerasium, and you actually won the third Group Stage round, finishing it in 1st Place overall. What a legend! You ended up having the 3rd best group stage combined time. You also finished 3rd place overall in the Round of 16, where you beat me, also finished 3rd place overall in the Quarterfinals as well, where you beat Cork, and once again finished in 3rd place overall in the Semifinals, where you lost by 0.8 second to the finalist Cerasium. With so many 3rd places, no other player deserved this 3rd Place medal more than you, lol. And you got it. You had an improvement in the FRHD All-Time top 100 ghosters list, but you better believe that you'll be pumped up. This contest performance + some features you got showed a legendary potential. As I said multiple times, "Young Legend In The Making". You just got 1 step closer in that mission. KEEP IT UP! Awesome FRWC debut! I hope to see you around in future editions. You have the potential to eventually win this. Last year, a younger Cerasium won the 3rd place medal and now he's in the final. The same could happen to you. As I said, KEEP IT UP! I hope you enjoyed this one, man. I enjoyed having you in the contest.

So that's it my friends. I'll be updating the poll now. Tomorrow I'll put an expectations post for RadiumRC vs Cerasium, the battle of the century! That's all we can do while we wait for the final track. Let's see how things will go.

As a combo of not feeling motivation to ghost nearing the end of my time in the WC, as well as the lack of motivation to want to ghost, more or less made me not try as much (or at all really) in most of my matches, something I'm not exactly too proud of looking back now and seeing that it could have been a way better match and could have been more fulfilling for Setsu and others I went against. In my head, top 3 medals were secured already, radium, cerasium, cerulean, sidewalk, totoca, cork, all names I'd never be able to beat in a ghosting comp like this
but regardless, hope that it was a fun ride in the contest! Setsu hope that you were able to have a good time with competing despite me not ghosting at all and giving no competition
also knew you shouldn't have doubted yourself, that family trip you mentioned to me never impacted anything!
ggs to everyone as well, xenom as well for that new trophy in his first WC
hope no new curse of #4 placement for usernames with "s" starting up soon

and will be waiting for the next installment to the world cup series to give it another shot as long as it's not too far away! would try much harder in that one for sure  thanks to Totoca12 for the hosting of this as well, pretty cool to see it hasn't slipped off the rails, especially with some of the trackmakers dipping out last minute, and good luck to Cerasium and Radium as well! will be a cool final for sure and know the map for it will be sweet as well
and hope Kano gives us Pro again in the future for more coin donations, you know those people with 200 hats are gonna love those coins

Thank you so much Totoca12 ! When I joined the contest I was aiming for top 10 at least, but somehow managed to get third? I don't know how I managed that, but thank you so much for organizing this. I know this meant many hours of unpaid work, lol, but you did it anyway, and I had a great time!
