"The power you learned... I can feel it emanating from you.
But that's enough talk. Let's get on with why you're here.
As the Pokémon League Champion, I accept your challenge!"
Welcome, challenger! As it seems rather unlikely for there to be a Remix Contest this year, I thought I would substitute it with a contest of my own. Recently, The Pokémon Company has been creating some stellar cards, giving their artists complete creative freedom to draw and design cards in any way they please. It has resulted in some very iconic cards, from the abstract
Giratina Alternate Art Card, to the stylised, cartoonish
Trainer Gallery Octillery, to a more traditional-Eastern depiction of the
Rayquaza VMAX Card. With such amazing art coming from Pokémon in the previous two years, I challenge you to create your own "card" using your own unique style, in the Free Rider HD editor!
The premise of the contest, is that everyone will pick one Pokémon as the focus of the card. Then, the author will have complete creative freedom in creating a card that suits said Pokémon! Some examples of what this may look like, include a Porygon2 that is flying through cyberspace, a Charizard that is burning down a Medieval village, a Dialga that is turning back time, or a Sandile that is hunting some Magikarp for food. Get creative!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Do I need to add HP stats, typing, moves etc in my card?
NO, you do not. If you would like to, go for it,
but the primary purpose of the contest is to create art, not to balance for a trading card game.
Can I make my own Pokémon? What Pokémon can I choose from?
No, Fakémon will not be accepted. There are over 900 Pokémon to choose from, that is more than enough.
How big will the card code size be?
I have made the card code around the same size as
weem's 2021 Box Contest box, just rectangular rather than square. It is big enough for you to detail as much as you want, small enough to easily finish in 8-9 weeks, whilst still being substantial enough to get a feature (imo).
Do I need to tell you what Pokémon I picked?
No, but if you want to comment it below, go your hardest. Similarly, picking the same Pokémon as someone else is not an issue.
Does the card need to look like a card zoomed out? Or can it be scaled to the standard size of a traditional FRHD track?
Scale is not an issue. Whether you draw in a scale like
this or in a scale like
this will not impact much (if at all) upon your score. Pick what is best for you, whether you are more comfortable drawing a piece of art or a more traditional track won't matter. Just
ensure that either way, it is obvious what Pokémon your card is about.
Can I have more than one Pokémon in my card?
You can, but you need to make sure that
there is one clear Pokémon that the card is about. A great example of there being more than one Pokémon on a card, whilst it remaining obvious what the card is about, can be seen in this
Skuntank Alternate Art Card, where there is a family of Stunky, Skuntank and a Paras in the background.
If you have any other questions, please ask them below!
Contest will begin in one week from today, my time (which is Australian Central Daylight Time). Once the contest has begun, I will post in this thread with the Pokémon Card track code, and then everyone will begin!
Comment "in" below if you're in, and good luck to those entering!

And just now, you became the most powerful of all the trainers.
You are now our newest champion!"
