First update on the times. What a round so far! We are having the players from pot 1 in the qualifiers facing the ones from pot 2 and players from pot 3 facing players in pot 4, so we are having some pretty even matches. There's many cool matches but I need to shoutout 3 matches at the moment. First one is Uniior vs Setsu. The poll showed that people are not sure about who's going to win this and the results are showing just that. Uniior has 26.30 time, 6th place in the round, while Setsu has an amazing 25.60, 4th place in the round. Really close! Let's see what we'll happen there. The second shoutout goes to Reborn vs Sidewalk. Yeah, Sidewalk is the favorite in the poll, but the results are close so far. Sidewalk has a 27.50 time, the 9th place in the track, while Reborn has a 28.37 time, 11th place in the track. The third shoutout goes to Stevie.T vs Totoca12. Yeah, I know this one was going to be tough, but I'll keep fighting, haha. I made the first ghost and improved like 3 times, getting a 27.20 with the standard route. Then Stevie.T beat me by 0.03, getting a 27.17 time. After that, I went with RadiumRC's route and finally got a ghost better than my best with the standard route, getting a time of 27.03. After that, using that alternative route, Stevie.T beat me back once again with a great 25.83 time. I'm done ghosting for today, so we can go back at it tomorrow. Stevie.T has the 5th best time in the round and I have the 8th. There's many other good ghosts, like Cerasium's but if we have to do another shoutout it has to be for RadiumRC, that mastered an epic route with the BMX and is sitting comfortably in 1st place. Another shoutout goes to Xenom that did an amazing ghost as well. Let's keep it up, guys, this is going to be an important round for the contest.

So here we go! First match of the group stage has finished and it was an interesting one. I was curious to see what you guys would think of the track, so I'm happy that most of the feedback was positive. Also, I'm happy that there were no major cuts found, lol. But there were a couple of cool time saves people found that were quite interesting. As for the round itself, we had some interesting battles, although most things went as expected. Let's do a quick recap of how things went out:

GROUP 1:

In the first group things went smoothly for the favorites. In the first match we had number 1 in the Qualifiers ShamatoZ against number 30 in the qualifiers AfterImage, so we had a clear favorite. The community also agreed and we had a 27-3 poll in favor of ShamatoZ, and people were not disappointed. Although ShamatoZ only got the 14th best time in the round with a 42.77 time, it was enough to beat AfterImage's 28th place time in the track of 1:17.10. Was ShamatoZ bringing the full ghosting power to last round? That's a debate for you guys. In fact, that answer might be crucial since there's a battle coming to ShamatoZ next round. It'll be time to face Chaos-Fallen, that had a better ghost than ShamatoZ in this first group stage match. Let's see what happens. As for AfterImage, he'll be facing TypicalEshay/CHARREDLIZARD21. I'm sure it's going to be a tough battle as well. Good luck, guys!

In the second match of the group, we had Chaos-Fallen vs TypicalEshay/CHARREDLIZARD21. Both ghosters have experience and medals in ghosting contests, so it was looking interesting to see who would win here. In the poll we had a 27-3 in favor of Chaos-Fallen and he came through and secured the win. I heard that CHARRELIZARD21 was having some keyboard issues in the Qualifiers (if I'm not mistaken), so I'm not sure if we were able to see his full power here, but it was a valid effort for sure. Chaos-Fallen had a great time of 38.83, the 5th place overall in the track, so it was a tough one to beat. CHARREDLIZARD ended up with a 52.73 time, the 23rd best in the track. Now Chaos-Fallen will face ShamatoZ in a very tough match for the 1st place in the group for the moment, so let's see what happens. CHARREDLIZARD21 will face AfterImage to try to secure his first win in the contest.

GROUP 2:

In Group 2 the favorites also didn't struggle too much to get the win. In the first match we had Uniior vs pawflix and things went as expected. The poll was a brutal 28-1 in favor of Uniior, given his awesome perfomance in the Qualifers and the whole year in ghosting and it went exactly as people thought it would go. Uniior had a great 38.53 time, the 4th best time overall. As for pawflix, he had the 24th best time in the track, with a 55.67 ghost. Now Uniior will have a tough challenge against Setsu, while pawflix will face RandomTurtleBoi, knowing he finished with a better time than him in the last track. Let's see what happens.

In the second match we had Setsu vs RandomTurtleBoi and the poll had a clear favorite: 23-5 favoring Setsu. Once again, the community was correct and Setsu continued his great performance in the contest with a good ghost, finishing with 40.23, the 9th best time overall. RandomTurtleBoi had the 25th time overall, a 1:02.03 ghost. Now Setsu will have a massive challenge since he'll face Uniior for the next round, while pawflix will be in a power struggle with RandomTurtleBoi for the next round. Let's wait and see who will prevail.

GROUP 3:

In the third group, once again the favorites prevailed. In the first match we had a poll favoring Reborn, 25 votes to 6 against Overthrown. And honestly there wasn't a fight here. Overthrown didn't make a ghost so Reborn had an effortless win, finishing with a 43.37 time, 17th place overall in the track. In the next round Reborn will need to work, since he'll face Sidewalk in a very anticipated match for the first place in the group. As for Overthrown, he'll have a tough battle facing RubeGoldberger next week. Let's see what happens.

In the second match we had an interesting matchup. Sidewalk vs RubeGoldberger. Yeah, we know there was a clear favorite here, but for the ones that were in the ORG last year, you guys might remember that there was a very interesting Sidewalk vs RubeGoldberger matchup there. Sidewalk challenged RubeGoldberger since he was confident on winning, but ended up losing in the end by a small margin, in an interesting upset there. Not sure if there were some "revenge vibes" here, but Sidewalk ended up getting the W this time. It was indeed not an easy track for non-spacebarrers, but Rube did great with a solid 46.63 time, the 20th best in the round. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to beat Sidewalk's 40.13 time, the 8th best in the round. The poll was 27-2 for Sidewalk and it went as expected, but it was indeed a good job from Rube. Next round Sidewalk will have a tough time facing the seed from pot 1 for his group, Reborn. RubeGoldberger will be facing Overthrown to secure his first win. Good luck, guys!

GROUP 4:

Once again we had the favorites prevailing here, but everyone in this group did great. So, congrats to all of you! As for the first matchup we had Cerasium vs WrzodX. This was an interesting matchup. Young Legend vs Old Legend, 2 players with medals in Free Rider World Cup editions, but 6 years apart. Yeah, of course the times have changed but it was cool seeing WrzodX putting some effort and doing a great 48.87 ghost here. That's a pretty solid one. I remember when we were both non-spacebarrers at a close skill level on FR3, and although I went to a different route, it's still nice to see you being one of the best on this side of the ghosting scene, alongside other guys like DblU, RubeGoldberger, we_are_number_one, TPlacella and a few others. I know it's not easy to get a non-spacebarred sub-50 ghost on that track, so props to you for the effort. As for Cerasium, the guy is on fire and got an epic 34.73 ghost, the 1st place overall in the track. This young man is a menace, watch out because he's coming for the crown this time. Let's see if he'll be able to get it. The poll here was 25-3 for Cerasium and he got the job done. Cerasium will be facing adversitas next round, while WrzodX will be facing MatthewMatthew58, in 2 interesting matchups. Let's see what happens!

In the second match we had adversitas vs MatthewMatthew58 and it was an interesting match. MatthewMatthew58 was a surprise in the Qualifiers, only got 2 votes but managed to qualify without much trouble, so I was interested on seeing how well would he do in the group stage. And he started well. He did a pretty decent 46.17 time and finished 19th place overall in the track. However, it wasn't enough to beat the experienced adversitas on this matchup. The poll favored adversitas by 23 votes to 6, and he secured the win, with a solid 41.13, 11th place overall in the round. Next round adversitas will have his toughest challenge yet, since he'll face Cerasium. MatthewMatthew58 will face WrzodX, in an interesting matchup. Good luck, guys!

GROUP 5:

Things weren't different on group 5, with the fan favorites winning once again. In the first match we had the one and only RadiumRC that is clearly one of the favorites to win the whole thing facing experienced non-spacebarrer we_are_number_one. The poll was a brutal 28-1 in favor of RadiumRC and he did prevail. Although he wasn't number one, Radium secured a solid 35.93 seconds ghost, that was enough to put him in 2nd place overall in the round and beat we_are_number_one's 2:34.10 time, the 30th placed time in the round . RadiumRC will be facing Coated_Badger on his own track next round, so let's see if that could be an advantage to Coated_Badger or not. As for we_are_number_one, he'll face Tubiek next week. Good luck, fellas!

In the second match we had Coated_Badger vs Tubiek and the poll and a little more even this time. We had 18 voted for Coated_Badger and 12 votes for Tubiek. In the end, Coated_Badger came through with a solid win, after getting a time of 42.03, the 12th place in the track. Nicely done! Tubiek had a 1:12.43 time, the 26th place in the round. Next round Coated_Badger will play in his on track, but he'll need to face no other than RadiumRC. Tough task! As for Tubiek, he might have an opportunity to recover against we_are_number_one next round, but we never know. Good luck, guys!

GROUP 6:

In Group 6 we had the best match of the tournament yet, but let's talk about the first one from the group first. It was Cerulean vs lightninggod. The poll was 25-5 for Cerulean and it went as expected. No problem for Cerulean here. He got a 39.63 time, the 6th best in the round, that was more than enough to beat lightninggod's time of 1:13.07 the 27th place in the round. Next round Cerulean will face Cork in a very interesting battle for the first place in the track, while lightninggod will have a hard task against R1ley070, that is showing to be a tough opponent. Let's see what the future upholds.

The second match was the best one yet, mostly because it was the closest one yet and we weren't sure of who was winning this one until the very end. In the Qualifiers R1ley070 only got 1 vote in the poll, so people weren't expecting him to advance at all and he did great. This time the poll was 25-6 in favor of Cork, so people were doubting R1ley070 once again and we almost got things wrong this time, haha. It wasn't an easy mission for Cork. Cork got a time of 42.33 seconds, 13th place in the round, while R1ley070 got a time of 43.03 seconds, the 15th place in the round. What a close match! Only 0.7 second separated both players, which is crazy. Major respect to R1ley070 for the effort here, you had the best time for a player that didn't win their match. Keep it up, man! It isn't over yet. Props to Cork for holding up and securing the win as well. It was an important one. Now Cork will have the tough task to face Cerulean, while R1ley070 will have the opportunity to get a win for the first time here, let's see what happens.

GROUP 7:

Now it's the time for the 7th group. The favorites secured the win here. In the first match Stevie.T that 27 votes in the poll against 4 from HoneyBadgers, secured an easy win, getting a 40.63 time, the 10th best in the round. HoneyBadgers finished with a 1:28.60 time, the 29th placed time overall in the round. Now Stevie.T will face me in a very important match for the first place at the moment in the group. As for HoneyBadgers, he'll need to face Rippedmagnet in the next round. Let's see what happens!

In the second match we had an interesting one. It was time for your boy Totoca12 to face Rippedmagnet on the first group stage match. First of all, yeah, I didn't really want to put a track from myself this soon in the contest to not have that much advantage, but with the trackmakers dropping out there wasn't much I could do in that regard, so apologies to Rippedmagnet for anything. But in all fairness, the track was only 100% ready in the day I was supposed to publish the track, so I didn't really have much time to practice on the track and only got a sub-40 ghost (what I was aiming for and never got in the editor in the few full attempts I had there to test the track) in the very last day, so I guess it ended up not being that unfair. For a while this matchup was really close since I had like a 42.17 time or something like that and Rippedmagnet had a 43.30 time. In the end, I got a 39.70 time, the 7th best in the round and Rippedmagnet got a 43.30 time, the 16th place in the round. Good job, man! Keep it up! The poll was 24-4 in my favor and I secured the win. This next round Rippedmagnet will be facing HoneyBadgers and I'll be having the scary task to face Stevie.T. Good luck, man! It'll be a tough task for sure.

GROUP 8:

We had a small upset in the 8th group, so let's check what happened. But first, let's briefly talk about Xenom's easy win against Cynosure. The poll was a 26-2 in favor of Xenom and it was as easy it seemed. Cynosure didn't ghost and Xenom finished with a remarkable ghost of 37.03, improved on his alt in the last day. This was the 3rd best time in the round, showing that Xenom is not coming to play, he's coming to win! Good stuff, man. Xenom will be facing braw next week, while Cynosure will face TPlacella in the search for a win.

In the second match we had an interesting upset. Even though braw qualified in the second pot and TPlacella qualified in the third pot, the poll was 17-12 in favor of TPlacella. However, once again, braw showed some consistency and finished with a good ghost, getting a time of 43.63, 18th place in the round, which was enough to beat TPlacella's 49.37, pretty solid for a non-spacebarrer. That was the 22nd placed time in the leaderboard for the last round. Good stuff, guys! Next round braw will have to face Xenom, while TPlacella will try to will against Cynosure. Good luck, guys! Let's see what the next match will have set for us. It should be an interesting round.
