here's what i've been listening to


been digging through a bunch of ariel pink's old stuff lately, his "what if an alien listened to a bunch of stuff from the 70s and tried to recreate it" is fun. he has a real talent for songwriting but also some bizarre sensibilities and loves to screw around on his albums by having the catchiest most perfectly constructed song you've ever heard sequenced right next to an insanely annoying commercial jingle about rubbing mayonnaise on a woman's butt; in some cases he will manage to fit both of these into the same song. anyway everything he puts out is guaranteed to have at least a couple real gems so it's been great digging through them. also he should stay off twitter and never give his opinion about anything ever what a silly guy

this sfv acid guy is really good, idm type music that does some really creative stuff without getting too into huffing one's own farts as others in the genre are wont to do, one of my favorite finds recently, firezone and cool zone - good albums, listen to them

that's right, i'm still listening to vampire weekend, even this album. and guess what: i even think it has some good songs. there's nothing you can do about it, so don't even bother trying

anyone remember flylo's fun little experiment with being a rapper? remember when no one knew who this was and people thought it was tyler? no? i'm an ancient old man now?
this project overall isn't really anything special but this was a fun single both musically and in terms of the buzz it created at the time, was nice to be reminded of it
