When will the "non-spacer bar" featured ghosts come back?

I don't know how people continuously press the spacebar without getting brain damage.

 

Probably never, there is not enough people who don't spacebar to make it worthwhile, I certainly want it to start up again. And if it does get up and running again, the same people most of the time will dominate, unlike the official featured ghosts thread where it is distributed nicely amongst most players.

 

Never, it was closed because there is no way to tell at a certain level if a ghost is spacebarred or not
I can imagine using live recordings, one thing I worry is if someone with that ghost code script ran away with all the feats because they could record themselves playing back ghosts, but it's a bit of a ridiculous fear

It just comes naturally sort of, don't think anybody who does it really thinks about it that much

The best here dominate as well, with lots of ghosts, but do agree that non sb, the best will always be the best there, and they will take ever other feat as well

I think live streams would work for nsb verification because it's much harder to get away with lip-syncing a ghost when the inputs have to be done in real-time and not just every time you pause the game. Pausing the game literally gives you the duration of the pause to sync.

I completely disagree. The same could have been said about spacebarrers because of how good they got. It really is insane how high the bar has been raised over the years. Top players have lives too, they get bored or they take breaks, start adulting, newer players catch up and often exceed the skill of the past top players. The technique used to play the game shouldn't change that. I think it will be as you say at the start for a little bit at least though for sure.

I think a nsb featured ghost thread could be added, but it takes much more effort to manage and participate because verification is absolutely necessary. I think a good example is speedrun.com/frhd. There are non-spacebar leaderboards on whole campaign runs where video is required and it seems to work pretty well.

The point that RubeGoldberger brought up could work, would need to show various attempts and the successful one as well, like the livestream suggestion
