List Official Featured Ghosts

PRE-UPDATE:

The next update regarding the reviews of the suggestions is pretty much ready for a few days, but the timing didn't seem fit with all of this talk regarding Symantec, especially since the update would add many features for him and since he went kinda silent lately. We decided to put Symantec's stuff on hold for a bit, but we'll explain everything in the update that will come later today. It'll be a long post, so I'm just saying that we'll post the reviews today to every ghost up to this post. Yeah, there's over 150 so we might have missed something, so anything let us know. We'll also announce some changes regarding the ghost mod team and as I mentioned, where we are regarding the Symantec situation.

BIG UPDATE (PART 1 OF 4)

Hello, guys. It's been a while. After like 2 and a half months we are finally posting another update, and guys, we have A LOT to talk about on this one. We'll be talking about changes in the Ghost Mod team, things regarding Symantec's current situation regarding the legitimacy of his ghosts, reviews for new ghosts, ghosts requested for removal, old exceptions and things like that.

New Mods and Changes in the Ghost Mod team:

Yeah, nothing lasts forever. I guess that it's pretty clear right now that the ghost mod team is struggling to keep things together at this point. We are all busy IRL, so we are sad to announce some departures from the ghost mod team, but we are also excited to see the new chapter for the team and also announce a new mod (and maybe look for some more). Here's how things will go:

LEAVING: Madara, NotVeryGood, Eryp - Unfortunately those guys won't be active on things related to ghosting anymore. Eryp has been an amazing partner in the thread since like September of 2019, but he's more focused on other stuff now, such as IRL things, being an admin on forums and mod for the game, hosting or judging in trackmaking contests and making tracks occasionally, so he won't be that active anymore on ghosting related stuff, as he hasn't been since Madara and NotVeryGood started helping officially. Thank you for all the help, much appreciated, you are always welcome to help whenever you feel like it. As for NotVeryGood, unfortunately it seems like he might have had some personal issues and kinda left the game a few months ago, so I hope he's doing alright. He was very helpful whenever he was active, so thanks for the help, man! As for Madara, this guy was the biggest partner on the team in the last year, always helping with all of the reviews, ghosting awards, changes in the top 100 list and the many ghosting contests we did. Thanks, man! You were a vital part of the ghosting community (and still are), so your absence will be felt. I know you want to distance yourself from the game a little bit, want to focus on some IRL stuff, so good luck on your endeavours, and if you want to help here again, just let me know. You are NotVeryGood were great helpers since the beginning of 2021 and even before that, so thanks for all that you guys did.

STAYING: Totoca12 - For now I'm staying. As the only one kind of active from the ghost mod team I feel like I need to be here for a bit longer, at least for a transition. I have said it a few times, but last year was a bit too much for me. There was not a single week where I wasn't involved with FRHD and I doubt that I spent more than 5 days out of the 365 we had last year without logging in on FRHD, or at least the forums. This is not very healthy and I'm trying to focus on my life priorities, so one of the things I plan to do this year is reduce the amount of time I spend on FRHD. With that said, since I do update lots of posts and spreadsheets, it'll take a solid transition for the Races forums not need my presence in any shape or form to stay active in all of the relevant threads, so that's my plan for the year. I still want to help, but I also would like to see that if I can't help, this thing will still go strong, without any problems. Let's see if we can do that. For that, I'll need some reinforcements.

ARRIVING: RadiumRC - We have been discussing for a bit about new mods and we all agreed that RadiumRC would be a good pick. The guy is a cool dude, a respected player, an active player and a very skilled one, so I think he'll be a great addition to the team. He'll be a full ghost mod. Chaos-Fallen, Anonyymi and Calculus will also be helping occasionally as well (and maybe Silver_bird7), although they won't be full ghost mods, at least not for now. We might keep looking for a few new players.

Symantec's Situation

Yeah, I know. If you go through the last few pages of the thread you will pretty much only see people talking about Symantec, mentioning some "allegations", "accusations", "suspicions" and "claims" about the legitimacy (or lack of it) of his ghosts. This got so many great ghosters involved, such as Cerasium, Cerulean, RadiumRC, Chaos-Fallen, Pie42, ShamatoZ, RubeGoldberger, Silver_bird7 and even RedOrBlue and Anonyymi.

People were suspicious amount his average between inputs, his long pauses while spacebarring, possible inconsistent stuff on his streams, weirdness in the ghosts, lacks of braking in some parts, his "first try" completions and lots of other stuff. And just after all of these allegations started showing up Symantec went silent. What a timing. All I can say now is that we are looking through it, talking to many different players and figuring out what we can do to verify the legitimacy of his ghosts. Yeah we heard things about challenging him in random trials and watch him ghost them, uses of handcam and some other stuff. We'll consider it. I'm talking to him once in a while as well, but it seems like he has been restricted by his parents and has some other problems that are not making him able to ghost that well (yeah, what a timing as well), so things are becoming hard to handle. We know that he was caught cheating with some FPS stuff as Alex-P back in May 2020 (see it here), but it's been a while. We'll figure things out. But you might be wondering: What are we going to do for now?

We won't remove any of his features, but we'll consider that all of them are "Under Review". As for his new suggestions, we had some really serious work to review over 90 suggestions from him, so we are posting those reviews. However, we'll post them on a separated post (I guess it'll be the 3rd post), and they won't be added to his features, but will be added to the "Unverified Features", alongside Silent-Rider's.

If anyone has any other suggestions on what to do on this situation let us know. We don't have any solid evidence that he cheats for now, so we can't just remove the ghosts from the list. His absence makes things harder, though.

Everything else was great, but the ghost seems beatable because of the small style choices in the first half. I feel like this should a challenge, so we see if people can actually beat this. Chaos-Fallen was ahead for a good portion of the track, so I feel like we can have improvements here.

Disclaimer: None of those new features are counting for him right now. As I said, they will be added to the Unverified Features section in the 3rd main post until we have a final decision about the legitimacy of his ghosts. All of the comments we made are related to the quality of the ghosts and the quality of the ghosts only, so we are not putting in our perspective the fact that they might not be legit.

Everything after that isn't that hard, so although it's indeed a good ghost, we don't think it's feature worthy.

We might need to review our trickghost rules to reinforce the importance of originality. I feel like this might still be somewhat solid, but after reviewing many trickghosts from you lately, this seems like some low-effort stuff, even though it's one of the longest ones.
