I didn’t try posting so I thought you guys actually all got off forums and went outside, thankfully I was wrong, happy ghosting
I am grinding so many tracks but to no avail. My skills only improved a little. WHY AM I SO BAD AT GHOSTING (been playing FRHD for about 1 year now) WILL THIS EVER END?!!
Don't sweat it man, 1 year isn't too long. If I'm not mistaken spacebarring can really accelerate improvement if you want to try learning that.
its more important to understand ghosting and its techniques then to be super consistent or crazy at spacebarring. if you understand how ghosting works and then start practicing you will improve at an unbelievable rate. so like whenever you watch a good ghost instead of being like oh thats a cool ghost what you should do is try to figure what made it fast and good and then try to implement that in ur ghosts.
I recently decided to try pie42’s input display, and it’s helping me see the techniques that pros use. Like I just learned that people press accelerate and brake at the same time as a brake that doesn’t stop you as fast, and use it when landing on uphills (correct me if I’m wrong). I didn’t even know that was a thing before.
I am assuming you play non-spacebar, correct me if I’m wrong but I am friends with you so I would say you are but whatever. A good way to improve ghosting and learn some new things is to go back to campaigns and reghost every single track as they provide a wide variety of skills/cuts that can be easily replicated once you practice. Most importantly, those types of tracks aren’t straight forward/frustrating so just slowly improve on your ghosts to better understand how such tracks play out and get better at certain skills. Trust me, it works, I keep on going back to improve my skills and also get some leaderboards in campaign (I am on like 13 atm but that doesn’t matter/concern you) it is important to just progress with your ghosting at a good rate, better your newly developed skills and learn even more by asking people in the community. So these steps then you will be able to try harder/more demanding tracks spacebar/non-spacebar. Once you do that, replicate, replicate! Hit random heaps of times and quickly get through tracks for points if you want and give each type of track a go. You will slowly get better and learn heaps of stuff. Hope you can take these simple things aboard instead of just watching another person’s ghost and try yourself, it is vital to understand what you’re doing and get better at it. Hope this helps my friend
eehhh there's not much else to do in online school when you have no work Spoiler 30 minutes between classes in online school, 1h lunch. (i do class, finish work, grind frhd) x3 then lunch hour to eat and to go outside (yes, i do touch grass/snow lol)
