I agree, listening to music is completely fine, I do the same thing.

Agreed. Music actually can be a coping measure. For me, play music helps. I think listening will help as well.

mmm... Sidewalk I would recommend some chill lofi beats (not sponsored ) by Chillhop. They are pretty great. I would recommend one of their 24/7 live streams. It's amazing. They have some pretty chill songs, and some more upbeat songs. It is the best way for me to cope with feelings (save for drawing, and those things go hand in hand for me).

But not everyone likes lofi. So maybe you won't like it. I like to almost meditate, step back from everything, kind of sit upright and stop thinking. Kind of think about your thoughts as if they aren't part of you, like you are a viewer, and slowly drift away from everything. I would recommend doing this in a quiet space (like a library or an office room). I kind of stay grounded, and sometimes fall asleep. That's another way to cope.

That reminds me of something that I find really hard to do. Empty my mind. I used to be pretty blank all the time, just living life. Now my mind runs all the time. I draw blanks during conversation, but I mean when I'm alone. Maybe that's why I stay up later than I should. It takes real effort to force my mind to stop. That's the only way that I've found to truly relax though. I can only imagine how hard this would be for anyone with a really stressful life, but if you haven't thought to focus on that, now you can.

Well that's why I do this. I have a super stressful life full of horrible things, and just so much to do. So I listen to this and meditate sort of. I can't fall asleep bc I think of everything im doing wrong, grades, what's in school, my crush, how awkward I am, what I did today, what I need to do tomorrow, this and that, so much stuff. Literally I have to shut myself down before I go to sleep or I just like can't.

i feel the exact same way all the time man, always have to be thinking about something, never a completely clear mind. i still havent figured out how to empty my head, but when i listen to music thats the only thing im focusing on and its better than listening to the inner monologue in my head rant about my mistakes, so thats a fortunate solution.

I often bump juice's happy songs, when im reading, bump some of his sad songs when Im sad, because it helps me relate to other peoples problems... its like i realize that im not the only one who feels this way, and I bump every juice song i want to listen to when im going to sleep or driving etc.

if you want a happy-ish song by juice listen to Wandered to L.A. He just dropped the song I believe, I like it a lot:)

good for you. Also, man I checked out your YouTube channel via another person showing me how you made Vanish. That was really cool. The one about your summer really expressed the nostalgia and excitement of growing up. I liked it a lot .

I partially agree with this (and I know you said sometimes so I'm not trying to start an argument). On one hand, yeah it's good to not treat them differently because it's A, respectful and B, it helps them not feel isolated from everyone else; that they should be treated different because something is wrong with them. But on the other hand, you shouldn't look away. Most of the time the person just doesn't know how to ask for help or know ways of opening up to people. Or as I said previously, they don't want to be estranged from everyone else. Looking away has the double edged consequence of indicating to the person that you may not care. That their feelings aren't worthy of someone offering help and that's not doing good for anyone. Instead, try talking to them but in a place that isn't in public and is safe for them to actually open up. Don't rush things and force them to tell you what is going on, but also don't turn your back.

Another good artist is kudasai beats. Very good lofi.

yes I said sometimes because it would be read this way. Like when you are crying silently and you dont want anyone to know. Sometimes its best just to treat them normally until they decide to open up. Pretend that its normal for their sake, it will at least help their social anxiety. Ask them if they are doing okay, but not right then and there. Sometimes people need time.
