So, the first match of the Group Stage is over, and it was definitely a nice round. Starting with the track, it was a solid one made by spruce with some cool additional details by Eryp. It was a really cool offroad track, so good work spruce.

The time average from the contestants was of approximately 1:15 (around 75 seconds). As for the matches, let's remember how things went down:

    GROUP 1:

In the first group we had 5th place in the Qualifiers Cerulean/Sharkfin originally facing 28th place in the Qualifiers White_Panther. Unfortunately, White_Panther dropped out of the contest, so we welcomed Coated_Badger, 33rd place on the Qualifers, back to the contest. In the original poll against Coated_Badger it was 36-8 votes in favor of Cerulean, and even if the opponent was different, the results were the same. With the 8th best time overall (51.27), Cerulean won this match against Coated_Badger, that got a 2:30.43 ghost, 28th place overall.

Also in this group, we had a duel between RadiumRC (12th in the Qualifiers) and Wolf777 (23rd in the Qualifiers). Despite some efforts from Wolf777, RadiumRC had a solid win and confirmed his favoritism (29-6 on the poll) with the 18th best time overall (55.23) against Wolf777's 26th best time overall, that was of 1:02.50.

Both Cerulean and RadiumRC have 3 points and face each other this round while Coated_Badger and Wolf777 have 0 and will also face each other this round. The tie-braker for every group is being made using the times from the first match of the Group Stage (for now).

Average time of group members: Aprox. 79.86 seconds or 1:19.86 (6th best average)

    GROUP 2:

Yeah, this group. Technically a very interesting group, although the 2 favorites didn't encounter much trouble from the other 2 players. First we had Madara (4th in the Qualifiers) against weem (26th in the Qualifiers), where we could see a clear favoritism for Madara (31-11 in the poll). 3rd place from last year's contest, Madara didn't disappoint and won the match with the 5th time overall (50.13) and didn't give a chance to weem, that got a 58.83 (25th best time overall).

In the other match, we had a theoretically interesting duel with spruce (9th in the Qualifiers) against me (20th in the Qualifiers). Although my time wasn't terrible, it wasn't really a duel. If it was a different track, like maybe a trial we might could have a better fight. I could manage competing on offroad tracks back in the first 2 World Cups but not anymore. At least not on that level. The standards on offroad tracks are insane now and spruce is one the best at this kind of tracks, so I wasn't going to beat him on his on offroad track, lol. I didn't have that much time to ghost in the first 2 days, but I did have a bit in the 3rd, but I just improved to a somewhat decent time. Great job from spruce, though. You killed it with the track and the ghost. I feel like I got have gotten a 52-ish ghost here, but it's ok. Let's focus on the next round. I got a 53.67, the 15th best time overall (at least it's on the better half, haha) and spruce confirmed his favoritism (29-12 in the poll) and got a 50.20, 6th best time overall.

Madara and spruce have 3 points and face each other this round, while it's time to weem and I fight for a victory on this round.

Average time of group members: Aprox. 53.2 seconds (2nd best average)

    GROUP 3:

In group 3 we had 1st place in the Qualifiers RedOrBlue facing 25th place in the Qualifiers Kazman. RedOrBlue was the clear favorite in the poll with an insane 38-3 result favoring him and he didn't disappoint. The man to be beaten this time is RedOrBlue. He got 1st place overall again with a 49.13 time, against a 56.00 time from Kazman, that got the 21st place overall on this round.

In the other match, we had one of the best matches of the the first round of the Group Stage: Uniior vs Apocolypse. The poll wasn't as unbalanced as most polls and showed a win from Uniior for 21-14. In the actual round, 11th place in the Qualifiers Uniior won the match with a great 52.47, that was 12th place overall on this round. But props to Apocolypse, 18th place in the Qualifiers that brought a big challenge for Uniior, and ended up with a good 54.13 ghost, 16th place overall on this round. This was only 1 one of the 3 matches this round where both players in the match got on the first half of the overall times for this round, so that indicates it was a good one. Nicely done.

Now Uniior (with 3 points) will have an insane task to face RedOrBlue (also with 3 points), while Apocolypse and Kazman (both with no points) will be on a life or death match to see who can get a win and stay alive in the contest. Good luck, guys.

Average time of group members: Aprox. 52.9 seconds (Best average)

    GROUP 4:

In group 4, favorite of the group and 7th place in the Qualifiers Chaos-Fallen was predicted to have an easy win against HafiSyah (27th in the Qualifiers) by the poll (38-3) and that went exactly as expected. Chaos-Fallen got the 4th time overall, an impressive time of 50.00 seconds, and that was enough to beat HafiSyah's 3:07.67 ghost, that got the 30th best time overall.

In the other match, we had a really interesting duel: adversitas vs Symantec. Adversitas, 13th place in the Qualifiers, was supposed to have the upper hand against 19th place in the Qualifiers Symantec, but the popular poll had a crazy tie in the votes (20-20), so it was an unclear if the experience of a great ghoster like adversitas would surpass a good "rising up moment" from Symantec in the ghosting community. The results came with an interesting win from Symantec, that got a 51.87, 9th best time overall against a 55.97 ghost from adversitas, that was the 20th best ghost overall.

Now Chaos-Fallen and Symantec have 3 points each while adversitas and HafiSyah have none. Symantec will have a great chance to get a good punctuation and advance to the next round if he beats HafiSyah in this round, while Chaos-Fallen will face adversitas, in a tough and interesting match, that might be decisive, especially for adversitas.

Average time of group members: Aprox. 86.38 seconds or 1:26.38 (7th best average)

    GROUP 5:

In group 5, DrChill, 8th place in the Qualifiers confirmed his favoritism (30-4 in the poll) and easily beat awesomeman82, 32nd place in the Qualifiers. DrChill got a great 52.43 time, that was the 11th best time overall, and awesomeman82 got a 1:24.10 time, the 27th best overall.

In the other match of the group, one of the surprises of the contest, Giampitek is keeping the good work. After getting a 13th place in the Qualifiers, Giampitek beat CHARREDLIZARD21 (21st place in the Qualifiers) in thie first match of the Group Stage. Giampitek got a 52.93 time (14th time overall) while CHARREDLIZARD21 got a 54.40 time (17th overall). It was a kinda close battle, so props to both. It was the first upset in the poll, since it was 18-12 for CHARREDLIZARD21. Giampitek is keeping a solid performance in the contest. Let's see how far can he go.

Both DrChill and Giampitek have 3 points each and will face each other in a really interesting match. In the last round the difference between their ghosts was just of 0.5 second, so this should be interesting. CHARREDLIZARD21 and awesomeman82 will face each other hoping for better luck this time and a chance to still be in the Winner side of the contest.

Average time of group members: Aprox. 60.97 seconds or 1:00.97 (4th best average)

    GROUP 6:

In group 6 we have the most legendary match of the group stage (and arguably one of the best matches of any group stage round ever), but first, let's talk about one of the surprises of the Qualifiers. BoostButt got an impressive 2nd place in the Qualifiers, which made he be in the pot 1 in his group. It would supposedly make him get an easier group, but that's not what happened at all, since ghosting legends as Zycerak and Stevie.T got in his group. But that wasn't his concern in the first round since his opponent was 30th place in the Qualifiers scoutrules. As predicted by the poll (33-5 for BoostButt), BoostButt won easily, with an impressive 49.70, 3rd place overall. He didn't come to play. Scoutrules completed the track last minute (props to him for that) and ended up only getting a 2:38.63, 29th best time in the last round.

In the other match we had a legendary match that totally could be a Championship Semifinals or Finals: Zycerak vs Stevie.T. Zycerak joined the contest last minute and got a 10th place ghost in the Qualifiers, while Stevie.T held back a bit and only got 17th in the Qualifiers. The seeding was cruel putting the 2nd best qualified from the pot 1, the 2nd best qualified from the pot 2 and the best qualified from the pot 3 in the same group, causing this insane group. The results can be seen here, were we have 3 people from this group in the top 7 of the track. Insane! In this Zycerak vs Stevie.T match, the people seemed to side with Stevie.T over Zycerak, despite it being a close poll. It ended 22-17 votes for Stevie.T, that showed that he doesn't have 2 medals in ghosting contests for no reason. With an insane 49.50 time (2nd best time overall), Stevie.T beat Zycerak's 50.77 (7th time overall) and won some really precious 3 points.

Coming from pot 3, Stevie.T takes the lead in group with the tie-breaker criteria, but both him and BoostButt have 3 points. Zycerak and scoutrules doesn't have any points, but let's see how they do in this next round. Next match will be BoostButt vs Zycerak and this will bea life or death match, especially for Zycerak, while Stevie.T after the huge win, can try to secure the 3 points against scourtules. Let's see how it goes.

Average time of group members: 77.15 seconds or 1:17.15 (5th best average)

    GROUP 7:

In group 7, we had Backtwice vs Cynic. 6th place in the Qualifiers Backtwice was expected to win (30-4 in the poll) against 29th place in the Qualifiers Cynic, and that was what happened. Backtwice got a 10th place 51.97 time and Cynic got a 22th place 56.30 time. Will Backtwice keep the legacy of the Finnish Dynasty? Or it's time for a change. We'll now soon enough.

In the other match. if was supposed to be Pie42 against we_are_number_one, but despite completing the track, we_are_number_one quit the contest last minute and was replaced by 34th place in the Qualifiers, YourAverageIndian. Pie42, 16th in the Qualifiers, easily won the match without much trouble, getting only the 23rd best time on the round. It was enough to beat YourAverageIndian 5:52.37 time, the 31st placed ghost in the round. YourAverageIndian had so little time to ghost, so let's see if he can recover in the next rounds. PS: The original poll with we_are_number_one had Pie42 winning by 17-14

Backtwice and Pie42 have 3 points each and will face each other in the current round, while YourAverageIndian and Cynic have no points, and will battle for their first victory.

Average time of group members: Aprox. 129.29 seconds or 2:09.29 (8th best average)

    GROUP 8:

In the last group, 2nd place in the Qualifiers mudkip was the favorite (33-4 in the poll) against Unadvertised, 31st place in the Qualifiers. In the end, Unadvertised was the only contestant that didn't ghost the track and mudkip did a 52.87 that put him in 13th place overall in the round. Easy win.

In the other match, NotVeryGood and Kanvo had a somewhat close match. Despite the polls being 31-6 in favor of NotVeryGood, 15th place in the Qualifiers, Kanvo, 24th place in the Qualifiers didn't do that bad. NotVeryGood ended up with 55.33 time, 19th place in the round, against a 57.47 time, 24th place in the round from Kanvo.

In this next round, mudkip and NotVeryGood (both with 3 points) will face each other, while Kanvo and Unadvertised will fight for their first victory in the contest. Kanvo has no points and Unadvertised has -1 point, since he didn't complete the track.

Average time of group members: Aprox. 55.22* seconds (3rd best average)
*Counting the 3 ghosters that completed the track.

New poll soon. Let's go guys.
