That is exactly why sound is a requirement. Altering the video's speed will distort the sound making the cheating attempt obvious.

 

this doesn't account for game lag.
EDIT: Granted they might not spacebar, but they could deliberately lag the game by running a bunch of browser-heavy stuff in the background, thus giving them a a slight advantage, so timing how long the video lasts as opposed to just reading the in-game timer is fairer

 

Playing on non smooth fps is not ok

 

Do you mean it should be against the rules or that it's just not easy/fun when you have uneven fps?

does it make it easier? i think when i switch from fullscreen or from other apps it slows down the webpage a little, but i don't keep it like that because it feels weird, idk if this is the same issue?

 

It’s much harder on unstable fps, once my computer glitched and gave me stable low stable the speed of mobile but I reloaded and it was fine, sadly I couldn’t make a ghost with it because I was on a bad track at the time

 

It would make things much easier for sure. No need to pull out a seperate timer and time it 5 times if you know neither ghoster spacebarred. Than again for consistency's sake you would want to time everything the same for the final featured list. Wouldn't make sense to have all the featured ghosts timed with different methods depending on how they were ghosted.

thread absolutely isn't dying, we actually have an update pretty much wrapped up and done I've just been too lazy to do anything recently. Also thanks for the new submission mate, will judge it soon.

 

ok. so i aint no spacebarrer and im not really that good at ghosting, but ive been getting several good ghosts on a few tracks. i wasn't recording them, so i'll have to do so in future.
