one thing I've found as I've been making my track is: I still suck at trees

If its bad why post? Put effort into your work and then be happy with what you make knowing you did the best you could with the skills you have. If you put in effort and did your best then don't say "this is bad" as it will only leave the judges no other course but to agree. Saying your own track sucks is not gonna give you bonus points, lol.

 

ok, let me restate it: the detail is bad. i am happy with the ride, i actually made the track focusing on the ride, detail was secondary. i can't detail well, so when i say it's bad, i mean the detail.

honestly im not sure how i could use the 10 days without going completely different to the original track. i'll see what i can do i guess. thanks

that's not all you can do. tighten it up, test the jumps to get them as fluid as you can, use less grav/speed boosts so it doesn't look like an eyesore. sure, you aren't good at detail in this moment, but you never know what'll happen if you keep putting effort into it. all the "big shots" here started out at some point without any experience, but they all have one thing in common; they started. think of some things you might want to draw, find some reference pics, save them in a folder and keep them on the side to reference what shapes to put together to make that thing, and i promise you you'll be better at it a lot quicker than you'd expect.

never underestimate the amount of work you can get done in an hour, maybe even less
