For that reason, I think it's too late to make that change, so I'm not advocating for a last minute rule change. Maybe just make sure to keep qualifying times in mind when seeding, so that it's not based so singularly on reputation. And maybe next year the seeding should be done differently.

for me, the qualifying times are the most important thing w seeding. i think what was written was either very poorly phrased or just wrong. i'm going off of qualifying times for seeding, though will move people up if i see fit. take what you said for example: i'd 100% move bt up to pot 1 if it made sense to do that despite his time.
basically, the top 32 times will qualify and one's position on that list of 32 will be their initial seed. if it makes sense to move them up, i will. the only way people will move down is if people behind them will move up. none of this should be that big an issue since we're doing 4 pots of 8 people each, with one person from each pot taking up a spot in each of the 8 groups. this is done so we won't have sannin, RoB, and anonyymi in the same group or something like that.
i think what we're planning is to have the groups done by monday midday and have the matches ready

seeding will be decided upon by a combination of manual seeding and elimination round placement.
both eryp and I will create lists of our personal seeding. here is an example:

eryp (open) eryp (close)

1. Fred
2. Joe
3. Steve
4. Peter

then, we will compile the results of the qualifier round, in order of fastest time to slowest. time ties will be determined on who created the ghost first.

then, to determine seeds for the group stages, we will average out the seedings throughout those three criteria

seeding (open) seeding (close)

1. Joe with an average of 1.33
2. Fred with an average of 2.33
3. Steve with an average of 3
4. Peter with an average of 3.33
5. Ryan with an average of 5

BrendanMagill You made a good point. I think Eryp and BrandonBishop50 already explained, but the Qualifiers will be important for the seeding, but they will not be the only thing that we will have in mind for this. But they explained it better. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear before.

Also, yeah I didn't put that much effort in my ghost. I only get my notebook back tomorrow, so I don't know if I'll be able to improve my ghost until then.

Hey everyone! The qualifier round ended about an hour ago, so I thought I would give you all an update.

The cut-off time for entry was 25.43 set by ZPresley ! Congratulations to him and all others who made it through to the group stages. To see how we seeded everybody you can go to the spreadsheet here, and at the bottom click "seeding." Not much else needs to be said in regards to this.

So, with seeding complete, the pots have been made. It seems there is a bit of confusion in regards to how the group stage will be set up, so I will be trying my best to clarify.

To determine the eight groups, Eryp will be randomly drawing one person from each pot. To do so he will be using a random number generator name picker thing. Then, after four people, one from each pot, have been chosen, those four ghosters will make up a group.

Group stages will consist of three matches, one against each person in your group. Every match will be a 1v1, so bring your best! If you win your 1v1 match, you will receive 3 points. A draw receives 1 point and a loss receives 0. At the end of all three matches, the top two players (in terms of points) from each group will enter the winner's bracket, and the bottom two enter the loser's bracket. I think I covered everything, but if not then feel free to ask any questions.

the first match will take place on the track uploaded by me later today. the 1 seeds in each group will be playing the 4 seeds, and the 2 seeds will be playing the 3 seeds (so group A will have slayed vs. selesele and dblu vs. uniior, for example). a win against your competitor will get you 3 points, a loss 0 points. in the unlikely case of a draw, you'll both get 1 point. the top 2 competitors from each group will move onto the round of 16 after everyone has played everyone.

Congrats to everyone that made to the group stage! There was way too many people (way more than I expected) for this contest, so we had like 21 people getting eliminated. Good luck to the remaining 32 players!

There's some pretty good groups. It seems that there will be some pretty good matches. Let's go Sannin demimondance Netsik
