No, this is not a joke. I was banned from my local Chipotle.
Here's the story. I've been going to my local Chipotle Mexican Grill religiously for years. It's an excellent source of protein and healthy carbs for a low price, and it tastes great. I have been there realistically 300+ times in my lifetime, and would consider myself an outstanding customer (I let them know if they undercharge, I usually tip, I fill out their surveys etc... though none of that matters, it just adds to my anger). However, 3 months ago, one of the female employees gave me a wave, and I got her number. We met up that night, she led me on (told me she might actually like me... etc) and it ended up just being a one night stand. I'm not gonna lie, the next day when she told me we can "both be adults about this and move on," I was actually kind of hurt. I was really against doing anything that night honestly, but she begged. Though, this doesn't really matter either. Point is, I moved on, but continued to go to the Chipotle on a weekly+ basis as I always have done since the restaurant was built.
Today, (about 3 months after the incident) I went there normally, ordered my food to go (as usual), didn't acknowledge the girl (as usual), and was going to leave. However, I was stalled with some awkward casual conversation by one of the employees, only to find out that they had called the police on me. There was no prior warning, and they had never told me they were uncomfortable with my presence. It was a complete surprise. I was escorted out of the restaurant, and eventually they told me I am banned from ever going back there. Personally, I think it's discrimination because they would never do this to a female client were it a male employee, however, that probably doesn't matter.
I'm actually pretty bummed about this whole situation, as I love that restaurant. I really was just going for the food. I was being extremely respectful of the girl that led me on, and did absolutely nothing out of the ordinary to cause a disruption. I haven't said a word to her, texted her or attempted to contact her since a few days after our fling. The ONLY thing I have said to her was "can I get a water cup." Yes they have the right to deny service, but they need some sort of valid reason that can hold up in court, no? Should I sue them? I'm looking for a plan of action, because I'm starting to believe less and less that there is justice in this world
oh and I know this is the last place I should be asking for legal advice lol, but it's a good story nonetheless. Plus, you never know... shrug
