since there's no thread for the update yet, im gonna post it here.

so this morning i logged into free rider and then realized there was a forum update. tbh i really like it, good job guys. so now that you started to update the forum, i have some ideas to suggest.
PS: the screenshots are from soundcloud, i think they have a pretty good interface and that we can take inspiration from it
1 - The banner: I think adding a banner to the profile would be pretty interesting, since the profiles aren't that pleasant. maybe it would add more life to them, and make them more interesting.



2 - The name: I know this isn't really important but knowing the names of the members make them more familiar. i suggest to create something where the people are gonna put their first name (and last name if they want too).


(In this example, his name is Wyatt )

3 - The collection: Actually it would be cool if we could make something like playlists, but with tracks. I know this idea has already been suggested but i think we can incorporate it to the forum too. I think you can make a way to put the recently played and the favorites (liked section in the game ?) in this section too. If you ever create the playlists on free rider, you could incorporate them to this section. Indeed, every user will have the choice to share his collection with the others users (public mode) or to just keep it to himself (private mode).

4 - The albums: This one isn't really about the forum, but you guys may be able to put it into the collection (3). It would be cool to create albums with your own tracks that you can name. We can take eli as an example; he makes related tracks, and call the whole thing an album (Summer of Hate for example). You could also make albums called like "My Best Tracks", "All My Autos", or "Dont Play These" (because you can't delete tracks haha got it so funny xDDDD).

5 - Tags: I suggest to change how the tags works. I think it would be better if it would works like soundcloud. On soundcloud, you can tag somebody, but the "@" is still visible. The name of the user you have tagged is taking a blue colour and when your mouse passes on his name, you can see his profile pic, the place where he lives, his number of followers, and if you follow him. Pretty useful but we're talking about esthetic on this one.




(My mouse is on the "@electricmantis" tag, its just that when i do a screenshot, my mouse diseappears lol sry) (Abonné means followed)

6 - Socials: I think having a place dedicated to the social medias would be pretty nice, since most of us uses them. It would be cool to be able to link your profile page on free rider too (and you guys could delete the "Home page" section)



7 - Desc tags: Not about the forum, but thats something i always wanted. WHY we can't tag people in the descriptions of tracks ?

8/1 - Reposts: Tbh repost on the forum would be really nice. It would function a bit like twitter, when a user will repost something, it would be displayed on his profile, and we could see on every posts every likes and reposts he has.

8/2 - Pin: This goes with the previous suggestion (8/1), and it consists in pinning one of your status on top of your profile, like in twitter too. Also maybe add hashtags too.

Maybe also pinning a certain track you made to the top of your profile, maybe the one your most proud of.

so at the beginning of this year i got completely screwed over by a lack of an early-bird class; instead of getting all my mains plus 2 sets of electives and orchestra in a year, i get all my mains plus 1 set of electives and orchestra.
now this wouldnt be too bad if i had gotten the first set of electives i had requested, but whoever set up my schedule replaced guitar 1, intro to 2d art, and intro to photography–my first set of req'd electives– with japanese, which i had planned on starting next year. so ive gotta do japanese this year and next year, and im stuck in the upper orchestra until i graduate.
so that kinda set me off and then today i talked to the art teacher and found out that there ISNT A FUCCING ART CLUB, and hasnt been one for like 5 years. so thats cool.


so how'd your first days go?

edit; expanding on the 'lack of an early-bird class':
i had signed up for any early-bird i could get and had been told that my math and social studies courses would have a chance of being early-birds.
with no notice until like one day before school started, where i had attended the orientation and gotten my schedule, we were told that the only early-bird was french 4.

 

I chose "architechure as a yearlong elective, with cooking as my backup. Unfortunately, both classes were filled so my electives were randomized (sophmores arent allowed to get free period). So i now have drawing class which is cancerously easy for a semester and then yoga the next. we in the same boat

 

I started two weeks ago, at my new school, and pretty much got the classes I wanted. I'm taking advanced percussion as a year long elective, but filled my free block in with robotics. I'm taking Arabic as my language.
I'm pretty happy with my classes, sorry you got screwed with yours :/

 

im australian so everything said makes no sense at all
