Wouldn't a fill tool be okay for OA's only? If you use it to shade little areas like this big:

I think it would save a lot of time.
I agree that it can be used to make everything crap, but when used properly (OA-ish) it can be faster to make tracks.
It takes so much time to fill in stuff w/ lines.

It WOULD save time but then tracks won't take as long and will need less work on, making them not as special.
