tbh spacebarring can be fun, for lolz666 and maple style tracks it slows you down a bit to help you enjoy the art of the track, all tho i can't use my space bar i found a way to spacebar anyway i just click the pause/start button in the upper left corner and honestly spacebarred ghost can be neat to watch if you care at all about such stuff like i do and i totally agree with you about how it is not fun for us that can't complete such tracks as this, but for some those tracks are fun
I would love for spacebaring to be removed but some are going to find other alternatives to "cheating" which would probably be more extreme but i guess most games are like that
Yes, but it wouldn't spread as a common way of riding tracks which is our main worry with spacebarring, they will also be far more obvious, and I don't consider other hacks a threat to future contests, feat lists, etc. Hopefully me and Max007x will eventually receive the ability to delete content such as ghosts.
well i think the best start on getting spacebarring to stop is making it so when you die you start back at the checkpoint with the same time as when you went through it just like bhr
Not to mention, there's no reason to not feature a track because it's impossible because, uhm, well, Rotate III is featured, you imbeciles. Duh. So yeah, completion is an invalid reason to not feature a track. Proven by previous decisions to feature Rotate III.
being so difficult as to be nearly impossible for the vast majority of the playerbase is, in fact, a bad thing - you are free to delude yourself about how i and everyone else in this thread who have complained about it are wrong but it objectively detracts from what is otherwise an impressive work. to illustrate why this is an absolutely awful argument, i present you with this allegory in hopes that you will realize why people don't like this track: This morning, and every morning before that for about a month, I ate a breakfast of uncooked meat and unpasteurized milk in hopes of producing the most rancid feces imaginable. Joyfully, I succeeded; I ended up producing the most foul-smelling poop I have ever encountered. I rushed to show my family, but to my disappointment they were disgusted. "What's wrong with you, octo," they said. "Why on earth would you think we would find this enjoyable?" I was mad, no, furious. How could they disregard my tremendous efforts? Could they not see this was a masterpiece? I replied, "You don't get the point, do you? I'm not trying to ******* say you can't complain about it being rancid, I'm saying you shouldn't judge it based on it. It indeed was made to smell awful, I didn't just sit on the toilet and let 'er rip, it took me time to make everything exactly how I wanted it to be." I smiled smugly, thinking I had made my point. Then my family called me a moron and disowned me, leaving me to die penniless in the streets.
Hey, a challenging track is always really cool but untill like a single person completes this track on frhd, it's not challenging but impossible
We weren't going to change all the detail just to upload it here. It'll get ghosted once the checkpoints abd front brake get fixed.
then why are you mad that not everybody likes it? ?!?!??!???!????????????????? then the praise should go to the ghost not the track, also you seem to have ignored the actual content of my fun little allegory in order to make it easier to dismiss, see below your argument was that your track should be praised because it succeeded in its goal of being very difficult, my comparison drew attention to the fact that succeeding in your own personal goal as an author does not mean that everyone has to enjoy your work. if you think my comparison somehow did a poor job of doing this, please kill yourself learn how allegories work familiarize yourself with basic reading comprehension skills pm me so i can write you a very sincere apology for not being clear enough if you reply to this i am going to make fun of you also i think the detail is impressive & CityShep deserves praise for it, i would not be wholly opposed to a feat given that rotate 3 was featured, but the difficulty level really limits the appeal edit: since my previous comparison was made for fun and probably a little too inflamatory, i have decided to make another one in order to better represent my argument: let's say i decide to make a movie. i decide this movie is going to be really, really violent. on its own, violence in movies is no big deal - it's pretty common for most flicks to have some degree of action and violence, especially in certain genres. so i go on and make it, and the movie comes out pretty much to my liking. the cinematography is beautiful (astute readers will note this represents cityshep's detail) and it is very, very violent. gore practically oozes from the screen, and even the most savvy horror buffs will be made squeamish by the extent it takes it. obviously i have made a film that will greatly appeal to some people, and by all accounts it succeeds in what it intends to do. it even provides aspects that anyone can appreciate in the beautiful way it was shot. however, in such a case, it would be ridiculous to act like noob and cs have been acting towards criticism when your average joe-blow moviegoer and critic go to the theater and are put off by the excessive violent content of the movie. sure, the movie wasn't made with them in mind, but the movie was released to the public and it is ridiculous to say they are wrong to be put off by content they don't like. similarly, ebolaids is sure to be a favorite among a group of hardcore ghosters - it massively succeeds with this demographic, there is no denying it. but also similarly, when your average member of the community plays the track, finds it impossible, and dislikes it, they are perfectly justified in doing so.
Also about the track. It's not my playing style but I think it's super cool. Detail is amazing and super fun to look at. I'm not sure if I would personally feature it because it is fairly small, but sheep you should still be super proud of you work. Also there's really no reason this thread should have gotten so out of hand. "In the next issue of the free rider feed: is spacebarring killing the game?"
why is this an argument? if you like the track: play it if you don't like it: don't play it it's that simple ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm a complete ******* retard. You really made me think twice. :/ The problem with this track was that the target group was like 5 ppl. I didn't understand that one at first. After reading thru this one I completely got it and changed my mind. Now that you clarified, it makes sense. I guess I don't need to killmyself, learn how allegories work or familiarize myself with basic reading comprehension skills now. Go for it. I honestly wanna see that, it'd be funny to me. too. This one made sense to me, thank you. (and yes, in this comparison I got that it represented shep's detail pretty much immediately) I gotta admit, I was in the wrong here, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. If the difficulty outweighs the detail in your rating, dislike it. If it doesn't, don't. It's up to whoever views it. I decided to reply because this isn't gonna continue the argument anymore. edit: you didnt really prove the difficulty directly makes the track worse, but that it's an opinion wether it does or doesn't. and at first i wasn't rly thinking about it that way. :/ no h8 @ u m8
