Anyone want to critique these trees? I know you may be surprised to see me here, but I just got official author. I didn't know until about 30 minutes ago, enough to throw together these trees
CityShep, is this better? Obviously I haven't finished it yet but this is what I've done. How would you suggest I do the canopy?
From my experience I've learned that it's difficult to detail the bark of a tree just by filling in an outline of said tree. Instead, I would try and give the bark some texture by having the bark define the shape of the tree. Take this feedback with a grain of salt, though - I don't have much experience in detailing foliage in FRHD.
After not touching this game for over a month and a half, I decided to actually try to follow CityShep's tutorial on making a grassy hill. I started with a really small one because I didn't want to put too much time and effort into something that I'll probably scrap. So, um... here it is. I personally think it is a piece of crap, so I could really use some tips, unless I'm being too critical.
dude it looks phenomenal! well done, you really understood the concept of defining the major angles and ridges. I'd say all it needs is to be blended in with the rest, so jusst add grass on the flat areas too. So glad you found it helpful, dude!
That there is definitely your best stuff yet imo. Looks extremely clean and really appealing. Fantastic stuff
Looks kind messy, all these specks floating everywhere. Also looks like a lame Maple ripoff, try coming up with your own style.
