Not trying to split hairs but it seems more around 6, however, it does appear that it was featured late, to be missed by several people including myself. Still however, featured tracks set the standard of tracks to be featured, and by the current standard you guys claim, this one is not good enough. But if you adamantly believe it is, several works need reconsideration.
true facts: track was posted on the forums on april 25th, track was featured april 26th we were lenient because it was it was new talent. it obviously wasn't up to the quality of veteran detailers, but in that moment, for me at least, it reminded me of classic old tracks with interesting but rough styles. I dug it. looking back, it probably would've been best to expect more of new members. idk though, it's on the border.
I'm not defending the track. Just saying that we didn't feature it recently. In hindsight maybe we should've made a different decision but I don't want to unfeature this after half a year. I agree that it's sloppier than it should be but we also took into consideration that it was his first release and that kinda pushed us. We had some doubts afterwards though but I'm really against unfeaturing tracks and so are the other guys so we are going to leave it as it is.
Know that your track was up for discussion That in itself should be encouraging as we never discuss tracks, unless they are of significant note! Unfortunatly it didn't quite make it through, but keep it up and you might have a featured track very soon Good job!
would my latest even be considered? or are you looking for more length and time put into detailing the track itself http://www.freeriderhd.com/t/210473-best-of-2015-free-rider-style
thanks for the compliment, because i didnt trace them, i looked at them for a while and thought wow thats a cool representation of that artist, and could be implemented into freerider rather easily, and drew it myself, no tracing necessary.
isnt it cool to be called a cheater when u did it legit? its like the biggest insult turned into the biggest compliment.
ikr, some people get pissed like no no i didnt how could you say that! but hey, if he thinks i traced it, thanks
lol your welcome, if you didn't trace it then that is actually very good, still think that it's a bit un-original...
well yeah i accept that it wasnt all from my head lol, but i thought it would look pretty sweet, but dont worry, my next track is all my ideas
For me what is crucial to rate a track is the ride. Despite the fact that I know that it's not easy to make a new track, but it's not impossible either, my rating is mostly if not exclusively based on the ride; thus the harder the ride gets to me the lower I'll rate it. Maybe an improvment is needed and we should be able to rate all five basic things mentioned by Max007x. So far I do not know if we can do so, thus I only give either thumbs up or thumbs down. Sorry if you do not support this method. But fear not, in the end it's only my way of judging them.
Yeah no those are the same images, you obviously copied /heavily referenced them. They're silhouettes, that's like the easiest thing to copy, even if you didn't 'trace" them. Wow this is literally the worst thing I've ever read. Do you not take into account how much time people may put into these things, how much practice and skill goes into the artwork? Only to have you downvote it because 'it's too hard!' is a huge insult to any artist / trackmaker that puts effort into their creations. The collab I'm working with Backtwice on right now is one of the longest, trickiest, most intense rides I've ever seen. It's likely it won't even be completed by anyone here on FRHD. Yet me and backtwice are still pouring every ounce of effort into making it as stunning and incredible as we can, and you are simply going to look at it and downvote it because you can't complete it? You're kidding me. Take the track and the artwork into consideration because the ride / completion rate is not always the most important aspect of a track. Yeah, it's not fair to the people who work really hard to create a masterpiece and a damn 'hold up' gets more likes / attention than the work of art that went unnoticed. It just makes no sense to me.
