Official Author Referrals

Hey Official Authors,

as you may have noticed, we have recently been adding a number of new players to the Official Author roster as they prove their ability to draw great tracks. Now, we want your help in deciding which new players deserve the official status. This means suggesting users who deserve official author status as well as telling us what criteria you think a user should meet before becoming a official author.

The only current criteria for a user to be upgraded to official author status is that they have uploaded at least 4 quality tracks to Free Rider HD.

So what do you think? Now is your chance to raise or lower the bar of entry as well as name anyone who you believe deserves the status. This could be someone you know or even someone you see on the newest track list. We hope to see great new official authors soon!

 

I think the bar is laying on the ground right now, let's actually raise it.
"4 quality tracks" is a vague term, can the worst author/thief get this status if a bunch of new players thinks he/she has made 4 great tracks? It should come down to a manual vote between a few select classic authors whose opinions are valued as to who gets the status.

 

I think that the criteria should be a little diferent. In my opinion I think that you should not only make numerous quality tracks but that You should be an active in the community to recieve this status.

I agree with Brandon and Freez, Raise the bar, let it be a vote by a panel or something to that effect of respected people (admins & or authors) I think that you should also be an active part of the community.

Okay lets be serious now. I think we should have a dedicated thread on the Classic Author Forum where we can just offer up suggestions for possible members, as well as their profile, and a highlight of which tracks they made that are awesome. Then, based on the number of likes that post gets, we can add that person to the Classic Authors. Maybe 5 likes on a post? I don't really know.
Admins get final decisions, of course.

 

Someone suggests a member for classic author status, and if mostly everyone agrees he can get in. That's how it should go

 

Maybe just keep the bar where it's at and add another higher up status.
But yes I agree it is way too easy to become a classic author right now

 

That is maybe a good idea; making a higher level.
Because we don't want it so crowded that it's hardly even an achievement. If I'm not correct I believe the same thing happened on CR; by the end basically everyone was a VIP.

 

How about campaign track winners get classic author (if they aren't already)

I agree with this, but rename this status to "Notable Author" or something, and then use Classic Author for the higher rank. Classic Author sounds like it would be the highest one

I don't know how making good tracks makes you classic lol. Just sayin haha

Lol. Seriously though, maybe Elite, Pro, Top, Well-Known, Experienced, Master... etc

 

I wish classic was actually for people who were around for FR2. Then something equivalent to VIP status on CR was added that would serve for what classic author status currently is.
So people who win campaigns would get this unnamed VIP status while classic authors would forever be those who were around since FR2. Both statuses would get this forum section of course.
