    Round 1 Rankings

Thank you to everyone who participated in Round 1, as stated before I thought the standard for Round 1 was insane, and I am very excited about it. I hope that same success can carry over into Round 2. A big congratulations to Max007x, THEend and Joelbmx for releasing the best and Top 3 tracks, also I would like to give honorable mentions to Armain and Minus for surprising everyone with amazing entries. I, Ness and plasticpineapple will be on tomorrow to give feedback regarding each track. Here are the full rankings:

    1st.
    Dark Matter by Max007x - 10/10 ***Plastic's Pick*** **Ness's Pick**

pssst: I thought the theme for this track was absolutely insane, including the individual highlights such as the ghosts and the blindfolded woman. I interpreted it as "statue of liberty"-esque, death due to war and the track appears to be apocalyptic of some sort. Anyways, the deeper meaning within the track is very well shown. Other than that, I lived the track alterations and how you let the detail influence and advance the track as well. Very great work and clear 1st place.

Plastic: Simply put, reminds me what pulled me into this game in the first place. Great theme, great reuse and restructuring of the track, consistent detail. I opened the track before I saw the author and knew right away it was yours.

Ness: incredible theme work, incredible track work, and incredible detail work. you nailed all aspects of making a fantastic track, and your storytelling skills through visuals are unparalleled. I can't say much more. you deserve a lot of love for this track.

    2nd. Rubell by THEend 9.9/10

pssst: Had Max's not drawn all myself, Ness and Plastic in to Max's fantasy, this would've been a shoe in for first, which is why I graded you guys both so closely. I personally have never played Child of Light, but I took a look at some stuff in order to get a background on the theme and you did a fantastic job, and also incorporated load of characteristics that are amazing, i.e. the headless statues. Very amazing, should receive a feature very soon.

Ness: your detail work here really surprised me. not only is it wonderful, it's extremely creative. the track side suffered a bit, but my eye wasn't disappointed. great job, and I'm really looking forward to your future tracks.

    3rd. Sunset by Joelbmx - 9.7/10

pssst: It was clearly the best nature track, clearly, however it does break the top 2 in importance to theme value. It has huge wow-moments with including the helicopter and the hot air balloon, however, the setting doesn't seem alive enough to receive a 10/10. But thats the only criticism to be given, this track is without a doubt amazing in its own right and by conventional wisdom it deserves to be featured. I hope this is in discussion.

Plastic: I'm going to be hard on you because I love your trees so much. I'm not a huge fan of the detail on your rocks, if they were as beautiful as your trees (especially that evergreen) then you would be the clearcut best detailer in the contest. I'll give you a hint, the rock right above the stream at the bottom is the best looking one. I'm more a fan of the horizontal lines than the vertical lines. They give the rock more of a defined, rounded shape. Also, you get an A+ on the track for using the helicopter, I didn't even know you could do that LOL. You also did a good job of making the original, smooth track into a flowy, rough track. Rough track can be good too if the jumps align right, and they do.

Ness: the remix of the track was A+, it felt new and exciting, and the detail complimented it beautifully. the only thing off-putting was the water detail, as it didn't stick out as much as it could've from the rocks, but that was really a minor complaint. stunning job.

    4th. Hippocampus Capture by Armain - 9.6/10

pssst: Alot of criticism has been floating around this track calling it "sloppy", I completely disagree. I dont understand how its possible to make not sloppy water, when rapid waves in itself are unpredictable. This is one of the best water-tracks I have ever seen. It also gains in theme value; the gods and the people who appear to be trying to fight for there lives, gives the track loads of added character. This track has my feature endorsement, very nice work.

Plastic: This is a pretty track! Your detail seems a tad unpolished to me though. since its so full, and mostly scenery lines, its hard to distinguish details. It's exciting to see how that detailing could evolve as those things get sorted out, you could have some very stunning tracks. The track didn't seem to stand out to me too much as an improvement over the original, but it wasn't anything that took away from the track overall.

Ness: I love it. the water theme was absolute fire (in the best way, of course) and the track felt like I was rushing through waves. this was magical. for the quantity, I can't hate on the detail and art that much, but it could've used some work to make it a bit more crisp. but the theme overrules any sort of disdain I could have for it. extremely well done.

    5th. ♡E⚡︎ by Minus - 9.5/10 (tie) *pssst's pick*

pssst: This track surprised the hell out of me, as previously stated I feel this track epitomizes the track aspect. The cosmic theme also is very cool, along with attention to small details. The backstory I feel the track is centered around when paying attention to, the exploding Earth and the quote as you reach the final goals of the track. The last frontier, moving away from earth or being forced to move. Amazing track, I'm glad this is in discussion for a feature.

5th. Bald Trees by zwinxz - 9.5/10 (tie)

pssst: No real wow-factor in this track, but I gave you a large amount of credit for seamlessly incorporating this style of detail into the track and with detail-to-track concepts. All the parts where you converted ramps to trees, hills, etc. did not appear forced at all, it instead felt like an upgrade. It faulters behind joels in wow-factor and size, but this is the most successful usage of nature detail within the first round. Great job.

    7th. A Dark Day to Descend by mR..A - 9.4/10

pssst: Very good combination of track alteration and aesthetic detail. Very expected as well, it seems you and Egghead always come through with the dope track. This gains alot though through theme value and individual track play and detail characteristics: the part where you have to switch after coming off the ramp and quickly switch back and the helicopter. Definitely, fits the mold of an effective remix.

Plastic: It's obvious that someone known to tear tracks apart like you is going to know how to make a track enjoyable to ride. Your style is vastly different from mine, but it was blended perfectly. Honestly, I couldn't even tell how much was the original route. There's simply nothing to complain about with the detail either. Simple and clean throughout, not as much focus on it as the track, but appropriate for your style.

Ness: track is on point, detail is simple and sweet. with the quantity you put out, I'd really love to see you do a full scale Plasticorp-like factory or maybe just a large and open trial-style track that's heavy on theme. I really think it'd go down as one of the best tracks ever.

    8th. Citadel by GMSkittles - 9.3/10

pssst: Very very creative, as acknowledged further through a feature: definitely on the strength of original design. I thought it was very well done considering what you were given to work with and maintaining the same point of view throughout. This track has greatness that supersedes the confines of this contest, eventhough it was held back in rankings by greatness of others in terms of what I look for while judging.

Ness: very interesting. very removed from the original theme, and you made the track your own. I commend you on your risk here, and I would really like you to develop this style and see where it takes you. hopefully good places :)

9th. Still in December by WheelieMaker - 9.1/10

pssst: I loved the winter theme. It appears to be consistently done throughout, and has standout details including the torch and the house. Its solid, but doesn't reach the levels this theme could take you.

    10th. Singular by IshuDaBurgerman - 9/10 (tie)

pssst: Had more been present this probably wouldve reached 4-6th, because I think the way it is detailed is very clean and well done, so much so, that although unfinished it receives 10th place. I hope to see more next round.

    10th. Glorious V2 by alexander - 9/10 (tie) (.5 point late penalty)

pssst: Penalized for being late. Had this been on time it would've received 5th and push other entries down comparatively. I thought it was extremely creative how you essentially remade the track and revamped it. You flexed the detail to your own style very well. Great job.

Ness: cloud work is pristine, rock work is a bit rocky in some places but really shines in others. great work overall.

    12th. iobairt by Elibloodthirst - 8.9/10

pssst: The druids did a lot for the theme value. I love the character they add to the track in almost a cartoony feel, but also in a morbid one because that one guy appears as if he is being executed. Very solid remix and gains through theme.

Plastic: You did exceptionally well at making the track appear 3D, with the upper sections of track in the background. I was pleasantly surprised by your improvements in detailing! Your section of track at the end seems a little lazy, mostly flying through the air. If you're going to have a part of a track where a lot of time is spent in the air, I find it best to make sure you land smoothly with as little direction change on the landing as possible to keep speed going (unless you're going for something different in a segment of track, like a trick)

    13th. Calm Belt by YoYo124 - 8.8/10

pssst: I understand you don't agree with this ranking, and I felt bad for having put you this low. But take a look at the tracks above you, can you for a fact justify this as better than any of them. This track fell in comparison, not in dislike for the track. The main characteristic that it faulters however is theme value; once you decide you are going to make it a nature track it becomes part of a group: Joel (3rd), zwinxz (5th), Ishu (10th). I suggest trying to impose more theme into the track, make the track seem more alive or do something creative.

Plastic: I enjoyed your style - it reminded me of a style that I used for a few tracks, inspired by phil zipcode. I can tell, however, that your cleanliness decreased quite a bit going from left to right. As Ness would always tell me, STOP USING BRUSH TO DETAIL! ... the left side does look nice though :) The changes in track made could have been cleaned up to be smoother as well. Perhaps that's your style, but you really have to adapt when working with another person on a track. I can tell where it switches to and from your parts.

    14th. Trail by JulianBlack - 8.6/10 (tie)

pssst: I didn't mind the messiness of the detail, because I was able to see past that for a nostalgic look: it reminds me of old BingBangBoom and Graggen. But aside from that, I really liked the track aspect of the remix. I thought you used the helicopter very well, I may even add it to my campaign lol. I found it to be tremendously fun, keep it up.

14th. The Fire Thief by codrey - 8.6/10 (tie)

pssst: I love the characteristics you added regarding the Fire Thief: Zeus and the Bird. The best word I could use to describe this track is "cool", because it's just a very cool track. I felt this had very interesting detail and track alterations. Very very solid.

16th. People Eat Like Pigs by wagon - 8.4/10

pssst: I liked the characters and some of the detail was original. But a lot of it bared striking resemblance to other users tracks. I don't discredit you for that however, it just faulters due to inconsistency, your detail appeared to change numerous times. Pick something and stick with it, you'll do a lot better.

    17th. Miners Wanted by spruce - 8.3/10

pssst: I'm very bugged mentally because I feel I underjudged you. I will deliberate moving you up by committee. On this look as I write this, I saw things I did not see while I was judging: originally I had thought the track, did not capitalize on the mine theme you set forth, but on this look I see individual characteristics including the dredge machine and the miner. I messed up, I apologize.

    18th. Non-Toxic by TiMartin1069 - 8/10

pssst: Very cool. I liked it a lot, I like what you did with the track and the individual characteristics such as the house. Though being unfinished it hurt you, because you werent able to fully capitalize off the theme you set forth. Very solid entry however.

    19th. Reclusion by Egghead - 7.9/10

pssst: You don't realize how much just a little bit more detail wouldve jumped this track or making a big wow-thing to look at. The track is dope, if you had put some real effort into making detail, Top 10.

Ness: good track, intriguing detail. I see the improvement in every new track of yours, keep that up and take as many risks as you can. I think your mind would choose wisely.

    20th. RC#4R1 by CHOLO - 7.7/10

pssst: If a theme was more truly defined and the point of view on the ramps was better this would've been graded higher. It was very interesting but it really felt to random to truly capitalize on what you had present.

    21st. Solitude by Cryogenic - 7.6/10

pssst: Yeah this is what I can give you for a quickie, could've been lower honestly. Was just kinda boring honestly.

    22nd. Cloudy by Nitrogeneric - 7.5/10

pssst: I liked this alot, despite it's randomness. But when you make something like this there has to be a method to the madness, and this was just kinda mad. Instead of forcing ideas, just put your ideas together; would make for a much better entry.

23rd. The Cave by Todredrob - 7.2/10 (tie)

pssst: The detail was pretty bad. Its better to make something minimal and have it look good, than scribble and look bad. Really this isn't lower because I found the track to be fun.

23rd. An Outline by Creak - 7.2/10 (tie)

pssst: Definitely could've been something. Thank you for putting the time into it you could. If everything was able to be laid out how I envision the finished product, 7th-13th place range.

    25th. Chamber of Secrets by RiderExtreme2 - 7/10

pssst: Past the quote and the snake, I can't give you that much for theme value. Reasonably, it needed more work.

    26th. Pathetic by TheSouthAmericanGuy - 6.8/10

pssst: Not bad for a quickie. But there isn't much to give you past the track aspect.

27th. From Underground to Sky by FOIL - 6.7/10

pssst: I love every one of these you do, but this one kinda got out of hand. What you added didn't incorporate the track at all.

    28th. Laboratory gr611 - 6.4/10

pssst: All focused in on the track aspect and no detail really. The track was just kinda weird.

    29th. creiodem kcrta by BlobGuy - 6/10

pssst: I appreciate the ideas, but like Nitrogeneric there was no method to the madness.

30th. Stalacites and Stalagmites by LucJohnson - 5/10

pssst: Erased too much of the track, but it was fun.

31st. Best Contest Entry by FreddySpaghetti - 3/10

    pssst: Can you illumiNOT

Alot of these tracks need to be in discussion for a feature, if none are featured I would be thoroughly disappointed. Every one in the top 5 deserves it.

Also I want everyone to play Minus's, it without a doubt epitomizes the track aspect of remixing and has very original detail: http://www.freeriderhd.com/t/218026-e

In hindsight that is the only one justifiable for a move up, #1, nah. But it's very original.

it's only roughly laid out, but the first portion of the ride and the entire map is planned. Not giving any previews or anything because I don't want anyone taking inspiration from what I'm doing. pssst I'mma PM you what I've got once I've cleaned it up a lot more and sample detailed a portion of it.
