Here is a good tip for getting in slo-mo. Buy my type of computer, go really far away from the wifi router in your house, open up free rider, forums, and a tab that plays music, sit back, relax, and enjoy riding at a ridiculously slow speed

so 'spacebarring' is a way to up the time you have to react to things while playing at the ridiculously high fps that frhd runs in. you basically hold you arrow inputs, tap space, adjust arrow inputs, and tap space again. its a system that takes a while to get used to, but once you do, you'll be able to cheat your way to the tops of leaderboards because it requires absolutely no skill at all i assure you.

    Lmao no skill at all
I’d say it helps if you have some skill to begin with

Its basically required that you have a 3+ key or a space cancellation keyboard. If youre a 2 key laptop keyboard user like me, youre gonna have a bad time

I think I know what you mean: not being able to press up, left, space at the same time. I actually spacebar on a keyboard like that. However, I have installed a piece of software called SharpKeys. You can remap the arrow keys to other keys that will, when remapped, register as arrow keys. I have moved UP to RIGHT SHIFT, DOWN to UP, LEFT to PgUp, and RIGHT to PgDn. It works quite well for me, didn't take long to get used to at all.

Hahaha, you're right, but if you had skills before, it helps. I played for a while on FR3 where you can not spacebar, so it was easier for me to ghost here, because I was used to do some kinda good ghosts without this. But it was more important at the beginning, because now there are a lot of players who are playing for a very shorter amount of time than many great players that were able to catch up or surpass people like me in skill.

But come on, no skill? You need at least to have great reflexes and know very well the physics of the game and how to interact the bike with it to make great ghosts regularly. But for sure, it's not that big of a deal. If you learn how to spacebar you become a decent rider. The skill just help you to react more quickly to things and make more ghosts with more endurance and perfection, what can you make an awesome rider. We have always had a lot of great players, the skill and the constancy with great ghosts along the times are what differ the great ones from the legendary ones.

PS: You're killing the game right now, mudkip! One of the bests for sure!

I can confirm that space-barring requires 0 skill. Anyone that claims otherwise is trying to make themselves feel better about how they're so bad at the game, they need to manipulate it to get a good ghost. Honestly, the only way you can tell if someone is a good ghoster is by looking at their trick ghosts.

Yea cuz i tried pressing the left, up and spacebar at the same time but the spacebar would just cancel out.
    It seems a bit complex

I'm just gonna say that ik I'm bad which is why I spacebar lol but still but most people can do it, it's not against any rules and u still need skill using the spacebar to get the #1 spot, it's not like the space bar garuntees u a spot on the leaderboard but idk I'm just bad at explaining and bad at the game so I don't even know what I'm typing anymore lmao goodnight

That's not what I'm trying to do. That's why I said the stuff about FR3 and ghosting without spacebarring for a while. People like me, WrzodX and Asierro ghosted for a long time there without this and it wasn't bad (WrzodX still don't spacebar). I might take a while to get used to this again, but unless it is some hard trials, I think that I might be able to not be that bad. In many tracks I don't go spamming the spacebar, it's mostly for hard tricks and fast moves. It didn't come to me as a cheat, it was more like natural reflexes for some hard segments of some tracks. I remember when I found out that it was a thing and it kinda surprised me about how people like to do some long discussions about this topic, haha. (Hypocrisy Alert!) Haha.

Space-barring requires no skill, but what many times makes someone win, between two players who use spacebar is the skill they have, which means the knowledge of how things works on the game. You won't start spacebarring and become a legendary ghoster instantly. I'm spacebarring for like 3 years and I'm not even close to be the best of the game, and there's people who are doing this for like 1 year and are way better than me. That's skill.

Because if there is no skill, why we have different results every time for different people that know how to spacebar for a while? Why people like mudkip, Ninjasparkour and Sidewalk(rip) were some of the main highlights of the year? Luck? No. They played more often? Not necessarily. There were many players who played much more than them and know how to spacebar. So what's the difference? Skill.

You don't need skill to spacebar, but for be the best you need for sure some skill. In fact, the skill you need to have spacebarring is not the same that you need to have without doing that, and it's probably less complicated, but it still being skill.

The same way that you shouldn't consider yourself an awesome rider just for doing some decent ghosts using the spacebar technique you shouldn't think that using spacebar will make you better instantly.

And being good at spacebarring not necessarily means that you are trash without this. So you kinda have a point, but still not 100% accurate on this.

That's the best way for sure. Props to mR..A!

That's what I'm trying to say.

spacebarring ≠ bad, and don't let these guys tell you otherwise. some of the best players spacebar. it's very helpful in certain situations and not in others.

    spacebarring should be prevented

    spacebarring:
    1. encourages more difficult tracks when this game already suffers from a difficulty problem for newer players (at least w/ tracks the community considers good)
    2. widens the skill gap between newer players and experienced ones & adds another thing for newer players to learn if they want to complete many tracks (more barriers to entry = bad)
    3. provides a significant enough difference from regular gameplay such that to be competitive with top (or even just good) ghosters you're basically forced to spacebar
    4. actually detracts from otherwise impressive ghosts, i personally know i feel a lot less impressed with some ghosts after watching them being made on tc. in my mind at least, a ghost should at least partially represent the process the rider went through of riding the track, but it feels a little cheap that a run made while tapping the spacebar a few times every second translates into a ghost that would look identical to one made without using the spacebar

these are my honest opinions btw, no contrarian trolling
