Eye I drew (eye I, ha ha)

 

Yo, first time trying to actually paint properly with Photoshop. This is a WIP cover image for a paper on forestry at my summer job.

 

*bumps shamelessly*

 

Now here's the more or less final version, the vibe changed quite a bit:

That looks great, I really like the shading style.

 

Looks amazing of course, but if you wanted criticism, I don't like black line outlines of the trees and leaves, it looks like someone drew on a painted with a pen. But other than that, the actual look is great.

What brushes did you use? I download photoshop a while ago but could never figure out which brush to use, it was all so confusing.

 

Really? I've always kinda loved when people do that haha, its like taking realism and emphasizing stuff by keeping the outlines. Very stylized of course but I eat it up. Reminds me of free rider levels

 

It works when you are going for a more cartoonish style, like yours (really no offense meant by that), but when realism is trying to be achieved, I just find it distracting because it doesn't look real that way. To each their own though.
