Ideas about trending....

I have seen multiple threads talking about getting rid of trending forever. I think that trending doesn't need to be scrapped forever, there just need to be a few tweaks to make it better. So, I have a few ideas about changing trending... if anyone has more ideas about trending and how we can change it feel free to post it down below.

• First of all, tracks shouldn't be on trending for more than 2 days.
• The sorting algorithim should filter out all tracks with 'auto' in the title.
• The sorting algorithim should filter out all tracks that are less than 25k.
• The average completion time should be over 30 sec.

I know. You have to make them hard loopholes but those begging for attention will try as hard as they can to get... attention.

 

To much times where no good person puts a track and that's when the really bad ppl get trending and it's based off of two things how many plays and how many votes but if the votes are going down for it it still makes trending that gets me so angry and I think some tracks should be in trending for more then two days BlobGuy but no autos

 

That's a little too short. In my opinion, the point of trending for most people is to be known around the database, it's kind of a competition. People want to be known, heard, and people want their tracks to get recognition and if a track is only trending for 2 days then that competition has no point. I'd say if there were a certain time a track can be on the trending list, it should be about 7 days.

People are discovering autos, it's become a trend hence why they are on TRENDING.

Why? There can be a lot done with a track below 25k. Someone can make an enjoyable track that is minutes long, many paths, but no detail so it is about 15k. His/Her track wont have the chance of making it on the trending list because of the filter.

So say someone like Maple or lolz666 creates one of the most amazing tracks ever, the most beautiful detail and everything about it is outstanding and it's only 20 seconds, it cant be trending because it doesn't meet requirements.

I understand that everyone wants to get rid of autos, and in all honesty I myself wouldn't mind seeing them gone but we should all accept that these are trending because half of the community is just now discovering them and there are a lot of new people who don't even know the basics of how to make an auto. Trending can definitely be changed, but the fact that trending is on the home page is why these autos are uncreative tracks are getting so popular. If the featured list was the main list on the home page, greater tracks would be more recognized. The admins are to blame.

how about we just kill trending, hot, highest rated, biggest, and featured and make the only way to access a track by clicking play random

well, there could still be autos that people don't title that it is an auto or hold up...

 

I wouldn't mind if one really really good auto that is actually worth playing and took time to make got on trending, but all of the autos I've seen on trending are garbage.
